Description

Matthews and Marner can be a thing of beauty together, but there is no denying Danault and his line did a great job shutting them down in the playoffs, aaaaand Marner and Tavares were great together too. Just curious what the team could look like if we make some shifts with that in mind....

Not saying I like this, just curious what it could look like.

Also side note, the big question mark here is Kase. If he can return to his Anaheim two way play days I could love him there

Also note I wouldn't look at the bottom 6 as a third and fourth line so much as a defensive line and a sheltered scoring line

You probably have to split them up just because the wings are so weak now. Matthews is good enough to have others on his line and still put up good numbers and have an impact on other areas of the game.

Sure but the rest of the forward corps outside of the big four is essentially completely different.

I wouldn't say the wings are weak. Top heavy sure. But marner and Nylander are almost certainly top 5 in the league for two best wingers on a team.

But quite top heavy. They're bottom 6 wingers are fine too. They're just lacking essentially 1 maybe 2 (depending on kerfoot) top 6 lw
