Explications
I think we should stay with Toffoli-Suzuki-Caufield as the first line, they were great during the playoffs and Suzuki has great chemistry with both Toffoli and Caufield.

I think Drouin-Dvorak-Anderson is a great 2nd offensive line. Drouin and Anderson had a great chemistry last year before Drouin’s absence. Dvorak is a good 2-way player that will be solid defensively while producing 50-60 points on offense.

The 3rd line is a question mark. They have two 30 goals guy on the wings, but no center to make them produce. Poehling? I don’t think he’s ready. Evans is not good enough on offense and Paquette is a grinder. That leave us to Perreault. He played center in junior and a little bit in Washington andhe’s the guy that has the best offensive upside, and he’s very underrated as a hockey player. I put Hoffman on the 3rd line to hide him a little bit and reduce his defensive task 5-on-5. He’s a Powerplay guy, that’s it.

So I have Hoffman-Perreault-Gallagher as the 3rd line

The 4th line is Lehkonen/Paquette-Evans-Armia. A very good shutdown line. Armia should be one of the best 4th liner in the league. They might rotate Paquette and Lehkonen depending if the game requires physicality or not.

Defense is simple Edmundson-Petry as the 1st pair.
Chariot-Savard is a physical 2nd pair and super good defensively, but slow.
Romanov-Kulak as the 3rd pair. I don’t know who’s gonna win the 6th spot between Wideman and Kulak, we’ll see in camp.

Price starter and Allen backup no surprise there

What you guys think?

Expecting 50-60 points from Dvorak is a rather high expectation. Guy was only on a 44 point pace last season(over 82 games), 35% of which came on a powerplay in which he shot 44%. Regression is going to hit him hard. He probably won't even match that 40 point pace and especially when his wingers arn't exactly offense dynamos either.

Playing on a horrible Coyotes team, guy was playing with Crouse and Pitlick. Now he’s gonna play with offensive guy like Drouin, Anderson, Hoffman and Gallagher. His 5 on 5 points are gonna go up and we’ll see for the PP but I’m confindent he can put at least 50 points, othewise we’re in trouble.

He also played with guys like Garland, Kessel and Keller. He was far from out on an island on his own.

Having Perreault at 3c makes no sense, lines should be

Hoffman-Evans-Gally
Lehky-Poehling-Armia
Perreault-Paquette

Edmundson-Petry

Not trying to show my age but Lemaire played between Schutt & Lafleur. I saw most of their games on TV or at the Forum. Lemaire was a defensive forward between two goal scorers. So Evans could handle playing between Hoffman & Gally.

Danault started on 4th line with 10 points in 51 games with 47% win rate to Evans 13 point in 47 games with 50% win rate
People doubted Danault could fill the Role Desharnais had largely held for 5 years (outside that year and half he was playing hot ahead of Plekanec)

My point is EVERYONE counted Danault out on this forum, I remember as i was a lone Danault support since i met him in Junior playing here saying he'd make it.
He broke out with 40 points and 51% faceoff win rate based largely on his chemistry with Pacioretty that year he was struggling demoted to 3rd line with Danault and Shaw

Evans is every bit the player Danault going into his Sophmore season and although he may not have Pacioretty Shaw (or Byron before Patches)
He does have Hoffman and Gallagher which is a pretty good trade off IMO
