The offer to the Sabres is more than generous. But Kreider to Boston, too much cap and too much term.

You lost me when you called Schneider an "A" prospect

And the only way Eichel can "not play" is if he retires for the duration of his contract then applies for reinstatement like Kovy had to

a B prospect, guys like Byfield, Zegras, Lundell, Rossi, Power are A prospects, Schnieder is not on that level, and isnt particularly close either

Boston isn't touching Kreider and certainly not giving up a 1st rounder for him.

Buffalo has a pile of young D men. They need young FWds. While it’s an significant overpay it does not really meet their needs.

Boston has no interest or cap space. Debrusk and Moore would more likely be the trade, but nobody wants Kreider for 6 years.

If Rangers retained 1.5 mill, a 2nd round pick would be a good return.

i would do the tiers A+, A, B+, B. if by your A, B... ranking, then yes a B

You’re not the only one who’s not super high on Schneider. I think he will be a good top 4 guy but not top pairing. He’d be a good partner for a guy like Power tho. In terms of worth, he gets a B+ in my books

Eichel did demand a trade and wont play for them again, the sabres still decline that. The Sabres dont need goalies or D men, especially not in an Eichel trade

Even with the plus/minus grading system the highest he gets is a B

That isnt saying he's bad, he is a good prospect, B is a good grade. But he isnt on the level of guys like I mentioned above, to me to be an "A" level prospect you need to be a "can't miss" prospect and that isnt what Schnieder is because it wouldn't really be shocking if he never becomes more than a 4th defenseman

The A+ tier would be 5 prospects max, Schnieder while a good prospect is not even an A-, and I would even say a B+ is being too generous

Sabres arent looking for a random collection of disposable prospects, they have specifics needs to be met. This trade is complete gibberish and makes no sense for Buffalo to accept

Let Eichel rot on the Sabres. They won’t accept a trade from us without us destroying our youth on the team. Let them send him out west to another team.

I think its pretty obvious the Sabres are looking for Quality over Quantity

Realistically BUF doesnt move Eichel without a high end forward coming back, probably Kakko or Kratsov from the Rangers then add accordingly

Here's the deal:
Strome perfect to play top line center until either Cozens or Mittelstadt emerge as the heir apparent.
Blais not sure how the Sabres could use him, as there are four decent LW on the team now. I suppose they could move Olofsson to RW (or trade him for more 2022 picks),
Robertson probably does not fit into a future Sabre line up, I think they have five LHD ahead of him
Schneider I think after listening to the discussion, while he will never be a Dahlin, he is a solid RHD prospect with top four potential, a hole that he fills in nicely.
Georgiev I could see him as a back up to Luukkonen, but he is also not a great need for the Sabres.
2022 1st round pick (NYR) and 2022 2nd round pick (STL) I like 2022 draft picks, not so much that it allegedly a good draft, but rather that the returns are sooner.
2023 1st round pick (NYR) I like first round picks period.
Three pieces (Blaise, Robertson and Georgiev) that do not fit for the Sabres in the future.
Five good pieces Strome, Schneider, 2022 1st round pick (NYR), 2022 2nd round pick (STL) and 2023 1st round pick (NYR)
Collectively still not what Buffalo wants, but still good.
Here is my opinion, keep Blaise, Robertson and Georgiev, I think in over all value they would equal Kreider.
Throw him into the trade, let Buffalo retain part of his Salary and they move him to a third team along with Strome to another team.
TBH, Kreider and Strome would make the Sabres too good to be assured a top 3 pick.
But you do have this trade at the end of the season before the draft.
Make the change with Kreider and I would do the trade.
