Nobody's going to pay a 4 million dollar offer-sheet on Nolan Patrick.

Only reason why a 4 million dollar offer-sheet would be necessary is if Tkachuk doesn't sign by October 12th.

And we don't need yet another LD when we already have Chabot, Brannstrom, Mete, Holden and MDZ.

It's just better to give Colin White another shot, considering Ottawa is in the upswing of its rebuild.

Everything looks good here tactful AGM ✔

It's mind boggling to me that anyone would respond in an overly negative way to something like this and really underscores how bitter people here are

Sigh.

Maybe a point of improvement would be OTT getting someone who fits their timeline better than the steadily ageing ZAR maybe a mid level prospect

Anyhow good stuff thx 👍

It's impossible to have a post on this website without negativity or being shot down. I guess I could have made the Patrick OS cheaper, but people never critique the idea but instead shame you and make you feel stupid for it. idk why so many are like that here

I'm trying to be nicer here on capfriendly but you make it difficult with crap like this.

Ottawa isn't using an offer sheet on any RFA, they are too fiscally inhibited to make an attractive offer the present team wouldn't match.

Vegas can match up to $4.7MM and have until February to figure out their cap, including just trading Tuch away for picks/prospects. They aren't giving up Patrick (Glass) for a 2nd.

Ottawa has no need for a plug like Aston-Reese when they have Watson, and if they acquired a centre, they can move White to RW.

Pettersson might be an adequate 2nd pair LD, but once the college season ends, that spot will get filled by Sanderson, and Pettersson isn't likely to beat out Chabot or Sanderson and would be three more seasons of a financial drain past this season, a season the Sens aren't seriously contending in anyway. It's a waste of an acquisition for four years. It's extremely short sighted, something a teenager would think makes sense.

And here I am not being nice again.

Just NO to any Offer Sheet

I don't want Ottawa to play with that, it's placing a really big target on your back and after what happened this summer with Montreal/Carolina, I think we won't see an OS for years

Actually, only Bergevin had done OS recently (Point/Aho). The last time, it was the Flames in 2013 with ROR

It's almost like an unwritten rule. Teams simply don't want to do it so nobody does it to them

Without talking about what is happening is this thread, don't worry too much about it. Internet is a cesspool of stupidity and there is unfortunately a lot of stupidity in this world, which can be freely expressed under the cover of anonymity. I know easier said than done because I get caught in "annoyance" sometimes too, it's very hard to "accept" how stupid people can be, particularly on more important subjects like the pandemic. Ex : there's a guy on a Sens forum who harasses me for criticizing some Ottawa's management moves like if it was totally undeserved when it's actually the majority opinion. He even called my opinions "cringey" etc. Mind boggling

That being said, just copy/pasting what I wanted to add on the subject (also read above regarding offer sheets) :

Please no more Colin White trades.

He won't be traded, unless someone gives up appealing asset(s) for him but I don't see why would any team do that considering his AAV

There's abolutely no reason/point to trade Colin White. You won't get positive value for him, he's Chabot's best friend, he's overpaid by about 1.25 per season (based on polls) which is not crippling at all and he could still continue to improve as he's just 24 y/o.

He has produced 36 pts per 82 games in the NHL with mostly 3rd line minutes. The only season he had a better opportunity (better linemates, more TOI), he produced at a 47 pts pace. He has 4 years left at 4.75, which is too much for him but if it was 3.5 no one would complain. In the meantime, he provides forward depth and good 2-way play (check defensive/advanced stats).

Worst case scenario, Ottawa could buy him out for dirt cheap but highly doubtful it will come to that

I'm not a fan of White, but a Pettersson/White swap might make sense for the Penguins. ZAR? No thank you. Pens will hold on.

ZAR is a plug? He was one of the best defensive forwards in the LEAGUE the last two years. If that's what a plug does then man, you have an odd bar.
