Next off season if Bs disappoint

Description
These are some moves I would like to see happen if the bruins disappoint this year. Some moves could happen at TDL or in the off season. Start to transition into the Eichel-Pasta-Mcavoy era and get younger without a full rebuild.

BOS
2022 2nd round pick (TBL)
OTT
Haula, Erik
Additional Details:
Any team looking for a depth C

I don't mind Haula, but he's not worth a 2nd, not even a TBL 2nd.

Buffalo declines the eichel deal, too much quantity not enough quality. You wont get eichel in any deal if the best piece going out is a likely late 1st in this draft.
Also forbort will require assets to move. Nobodys paying for an overpaid 6/7 dman.

Seeing as this ACGM appears to be next year, that means Eichel's NMC kicked in. Assuming it has, he controls where he goes and with (more than likely) very few options, the value could lower for BUF. Not saying this gets it done, but if they let his NMC kicks in then they're playing with fire like Hall all over again

Jack still only gets to Veto a trade he doesn’t like. He can’t force a trade. Eventually if he wants out badly enough he accepts whatever trade the Sabres make just to get out. They still don’t have to negotiate with a team they don’t want to trade him to. Sure, it’s kind of bad faith, but he hasn’t exactly earned the right to force them to make a bad deal even then. Not to mention it’s not the same situation as Taylor Hall. He had an expiring contract where they lose him for nothing if they don’t move him. Jack has a five-year deal, and no way out of it.

Not sure how the Hall trade has anything in common with a theoretical Eichel to Boston trade, aside from the logos next to the names. Youre grasping at straws, its completely nonsensical

FFS they both have a NMC and once Eichel's kicks in he calls the shots like Hall did. It's really not hard to grasp. Do they have to move him? No, but its pretty clear he wants out.... so why is Buffalo going to keep a guy around whose making a large amount of money but didn't want to be there? Why keep him around if he's not committed to the team and could be a distraction? Is Buffalo really going to hold onto a guy for 5yrs just so they don't lose a trade? No because that's awful management. Then again it's Buffalo and they'd be dumb enough to do it.

Again if Buffalo let's his NMC kick in then they are playing with fire

Hall had 2 months left before he left for nothing, i dont know how to break it down any further. If Eichel veto's a trade to Calgary because he wants to go to Boston, Kevyn Adams can say "fine" and let him waste 4 years. If Eichel wants out, hes probably not going to be vetoing trades, therefore it isnt in the same universe as the Hall trade. this isnt hard to comprehend, but keep clinging to your shred of hope FFS

Yeah its true but they arent moving eichel for a package with the best asset being a late 1st. Theyre going to need a premium piece in any package that has a chance.

Ha I've said multiple times on this site I don't see Eichel going to Boston, so your cling to hope comment is pointless lol

Also if BUF let's Eichel sit around for 4 years half assing it because he won't accept a trade they want, then that'll be funny as hell. Then again the circus that is the Sabres is a good laugh year around. Eichel wants out, Dahlin still isn't signed and their #1OA pick would rather play in the NCAA this year than Buffalo 🤣 (before you get angry, I do expect Owen to sign with Buffalo at some point).

No even better, he'll go to Russia. Thats better then setting a standard that your going to dump players at a discount just to get rid of them. Thats what killed Botterill and Pegula doesnt want to get embarrassed again. The Sabres arent dumping him to get rid of him, thats the last thing they will do, and the Sabres fan base fully supports that

That's a very cut off your nose to spite your face thinking. Which is probably why the Sabres haven't sniffed the playoffs in 10 years and have been a perennial cellar dweller.

i mean trade Eichel for a bunch of bottom 6 players they already have a ton of, or let him rot to make a statement. Kind of a no brainer

You didnt offer a counter so what other context would we have 🤔
Not that i was even focusing on the return itself, just saying his nmc doesnt mean Buffalo will sell him for less

Why would I counter when I don't think he'd be traded to Boston LMAO. If you don't think he'll fetch a lesser return if/when his NMC kicks in then you'll be disappointed. Right now he can be traded anywhere, so more bidders. When the NMC kicks in he can shrink that significantly and less bidders hurts Buffalo. As it is no one's coming close to what Buffalo wants lol.
