Statistics, (limited) eye test, scouts & I think that the fact that it's so rare for an 18 year old to play in the SHL (easily a top 5 mens league in the world) and how he played more than any draft year tendie ever and looked good doing it.

I thought the kid as a top 10 prospect and I didn't see anyone saying he was a top 10 talent. And a big reason he wasn't even higher for a lot of people was because he was a goalie.

He's not the flashiest by any means. Almost an anti Askarov in that regard. But he's so poised and effective that he's going to be a stud sooner than later.

And when it comes to the "best goalie since Vasy/Price" thing; I don't actually believe that however, I do believe there is an argument. And he's most definitely in the conversation with Knight & Askarov

I think he'll be considered for the backup job once Talbot's contract is up, maybe/probably taking another season after Talbot's last to make it. 5-6 more years of playing against men before making the show isn't realistic to me.
