Description

Gustafsson wins the 2nd par LHD out of Training camp. Trotz does not trust Aho or Hickey. Salo shows that he belongs in the NHL and secures the 7th spot by having a surprising training camp. Aho goes through waivers and is either sent down to the AHL or claimed. Bellows is brought back on a one year one way deal bc. there is any suitable trade deals for him. MDC comes back on a minimum veteran contract because Trotz likes his defensive game .

I think Golyshev makes the team over bellows

The D should be better then last year, hopefully Salo gets into the lineup and runs away with it. He’s already 23 and he’s very reliable

During the 18-19 season Trotz let Toews-Mayfield make mistakes and take on 2nd pairing minutes despite having little experience. Hopefully Trotz eventually does that with Salo + Dobson

I like this move from Lou, its a PTO not a standard contract so there will be competition for the 2nd pair LHD spot. Gustafsson played for the flyers last year that were an overall disappointing team. The stat that I payed more attention is the 16 mins of ice time Gustafsson got and the year before 20 mins a night. He can play 16-18 mins and that would be a good signing

Golyshev is 5 ft 7 in he is going to struggle to make the roster Bellows has more potential than him.

Golyshev is 5’8 and about 190 pounds - he’s known for his two way play and he’s a physical player. I’d say at this point he has more potential than Bellows and Trotz doesn’t like Bellows for whatever reason.

Panik should be 13F. Interchangeable on the bottom-6 if there is an injury and can actually score a little bit
