Description
Hoping that the 2nd line can create something very productive with a net driving guy (Dvorak) a rejuvenated playmaker (Drouin) and a finisher (Tarasenko). Certainly no guarantees though. I still am hesitant about what Drouin will produce.
Thomas gets put in with guys that can score in different ways and is allowed to grow as a C in a sheltered role.
Norlinder and Wideman get limited minutes but definitely help on the power play.
This is just playing around but it could be interesting.

Have fun resigning Suzuki next year, and then Caufield the year after would be fun as well. Suzuki is primed to be making at least 6 mil next year, maybe 5 mil if he wants to help the team.

What does St. Louis project RT to be? I am not saying this in a negative way, I am just wondering.
Is he expected to replace O’Reill or Schenn in the center ice hierarchy?
Do they have him lined up to play the wing more?
I honestly had him in the trade because there seems to be a lot of interest on him, but I was not sure whether he would be a 2nd line center type of player or not.

Any input is appreciated

By the end of the season he was exclusively playing center. I would think that he is the eventual 2C, whether that means Schenn moves to LW or they just settle on a top-9 that spreads the minutes around. I think Thomas' floor is low-end 2C and ceiling is low-end 1C. He played 3 different stretches of games last year for a total of just 33 games and he never really got going, but the season before that he was 2 pts off of the team lead in 5v5 scoring. Once he and Kyrou get PP minutes, they'll probably start to get a lot more recognition.

FWIW, here are the top 5 even strength scoring rates of anyone with over 500 TOI drafted since 2017:
Jason Robertson: 2.84 EVP/60 in 54 GP
Elias Pettersson: 2.49 EVP/60 in 165 GP
Joel Farabee: 2.19 EVP/60 in 107 GP
Max Comtois: 2.17 EVP/60 in 94 GP
Robert Thomas: 2.08 EVP/60 in 169 GP

I have extremely high hopes for the guy, just needs to stay healthy and good things will happen.

Ideally, he'll develop into a 1C captain. Perhaps he's no more than a 2C with great intangibles. We shall see, but he should play well in the league a long time. Kid's a gamer and a winner. Apparently he has amped up his offseason routine, hopefully a good sign.

Just curious, what are you thoughts about 3rd/4th liner Kerfoot at 3.5 x 2?

Kerfoot certainly isn't a fourth liner. Besides the Leafs need him at centre. During the playoffs, Kerfoot was the Leafs second best forward.

Kerfoot is certainly not a top 6 calibre forward. And he is not that great of a center. I fully expect him to start this season on the wing. And the playoffs for the leafs consisted of 7 games. Don't think you use a 7 game series to judge Kerfoot while ignoring his last 2 full seasons with Toronto. You could argue that Armia was one of the main reasons Montreal turned the series around against Toronto with his game 5 performance. Really, there is not much difference between the value of Kerfoot and Armia.
