Look who plays on Buffalo and who plays on MTL. Besides, the two years prior Eichels sabres were first in the league for a month if I can remember correct, not his fault that the sabres are literally an ahl team. If Eichel was on the Habs instead of Suzuki last year, Habs would’ve won the cup

You can argue the merits of the Eichel, but no way Seattle takes on the more expensive, erratic Drouin over McCann

Habs fan here……I don’t think Suzuki is untouchable but I wouldn’t make any deal for Eichel including him until I see how Eichel plays after his surgery.

Suzuki is captain? you of of people should know better. He didnt lead the team in goals or points, he didnt even lead the forward group, he was just on the team. A good part of the team, but if Eichel was surrounded by those players Buffalo would have gone a few rounds

The reason Montreal wouldn’t include suzuki is you trade for eichel for that to be your one two punch. If you use him to trade for eichel you’ve likely depleted assets elsewhere and only marginally improved your team which is not currently a cup contender despite the Cinderella run.
