I'm hoping this is the year they make Gallagher captain, and give the A's to Suzuki and Petry. Byron can be buried as a cap casualty, it will be tight, and the young kids need spots. Be a nice touch to hear a trade on the draft floor, in Montreal, you know that they'll make a splash, somehow.

I don't think there will be a new captain until Weber is definitely done (retired officially/unofficially). Then yes, Gallagher.

There is no reason to think that Roy would be a good NHL GM. Sure is a big difference being a coach/GM/owner in junior hockey than pro hockey.

You cant bring the Goalie Crusher in with Price on a 10m deal with what 5 years left?
Thats asking for trouble given all the goalies he's abused over the years

I was doing Security for the Hotel they were in back in 2006 during the Memorial cup
He was escorted out of the building at 11pm for waking up guest yelling at Cederic Desjardins
Guys own son quit hockey to write the saddest music in the world Country after playing for his father

Maybe he's a better GM then Coach though
I just know as a coach he's a trash humanbeing

Thanks for the insight.

Just my opinion from a distance, he's being a bully in the Junior with teenagers, and because he owned a hockey club/managed/coached
His bully attitude didn't go over with the players on the Colorado Avs when he coached there. His big ego wouldn't be effective when his job in the NHL would be dealing with other powerful men with egos

His moves as the vp of hockey ops for the avs set the team back. Years

Edmonton rejects. They can get a backup in free agency and they aren't giving up a good prospect for an overpaid 4th liner (who may not be qualified anyhow).

People need to forget about Roy. Guy is done in the NHL. Habs next GM should be Darche. Habs would be smart to bring him in under Bergy. Then eventually move Bergy to President. Darche has been working under Brisebois in TB. Roy is done. Get over it.

Logan broke a law "defamation and criminal photography" which in Canada is the Equivalent of Slander and Theft of Intellectual Property.
Canada is posturing so you dont notice they only Convict 20% of all Rape Cases in our nation vs Sweden's 80%
How does Sweden do it ?
With Clear Cut laws

Because Tru**** Trudeau made comments it got twisted into something it wasnt again for posturing
Trudeau never promised to Fix our System instead he's trying to pretend we're better the Sweden . . . .
He just wants dumb liberals to think our system hasnt completely failed the victims of crimes here.

Kid was on a team full of adults as old as 40 and made a dumb decision trying to boast about being with an older woman as a Minor in Sweden .
Was it dumb? yes
But it wasnt like he was thinking "lets ruin her life"
Nor is it like Jake Virtanen with Dozens of Victims stepping forward
It was 1 incident with 1 person

In Canada This wouldnt even have made it to trial
Case and Point Amanda Todd

So next time you're BSing remember we let this happen here and did nothing
Amanda Todd still has no Justice and NO ONE has tried to fix Canada's Archaic Legal System in regards to Sex Crimes

Mailloux brings attention to a subject Canada Buried with Amanada Todd 6 years ago
He will help bring MUCH needed change but not allowing the topic to be swept under the rug as Canadians do

lol overpaid 4th liner you mean like Warren Foegele. Cause Hyman was also great value. You make it sound like Edmonton never overpays when they always do. Lehkonen has better value than Lavoie. Its laughable to think Lavoie value is higher. He's a middling prospect that wouldnt even be top10 on the Habs. They can trade Lehkonen almost anywhere, he's a high demand forward that the Habs have taken calls from around the league. To think Caleb Jones and a 3rd rounder were given up for a legitimate ovepaid 5m player in Keith and you think this is overpayment with a well established, young and versatile 2.5M player lol I bet you were calling Caleb Jones a top4 D last year.

That's a lot of silly assumptions in one post, you might want to pace yourself. Lehkonen would be a 4th liner in Edmonton, so at $2.5M he's overpaid and not worth spending a good prospect on. I don't really care what you think of Lavoie, and whether or not Edmonton has overpaid players in your biased opinion is utterly irrelevant.

The trade proposed does not benefit Edmonton so I don't see them doing it.

Silly, you mean like assuming that Lavoie actually blossoms into anything more than a bottom 6 thus at best a poor man's Lehkonen. Arturri gets paid 2.3M for one if youre gonna continue your delusions which isnt overpaid for what he brings.

Here's the synopsis from Corey Pronman on Lavoie

7. Raphael Lavoie, RW, Bakersfield-AHL

Sept. 25, 2000 | 6-foot-4 | 196 pounds

Drafted: No. 38 in 2019

Tier: Projected to play NHL games

Skating: Poor
Puck Skills: Average
Hockey Sense: Average
Compete: Poor
Shot: Above-average

Lavoie had a busy season. He was cut from his SHL team, went to be a leading scorer on a bottom feeding Allsvenskan team, then came over to the AHL where he was good for Bakersfield. He’s a tough player to figure out. He’s 6-foot-4, has very good skill, can create chances for himself and others and has a great shot to score from range. He looks like a player who should pop consistently with his talent. Those moments don’t happen too often due to a lack of speed in his game, and an effort level that comes and goes on top of playing too much on the perimeter. I still see too much scoring ability that I think Lavoie finds a way to be a bottom six winger.

wow what a prospect. had you a bit of levity you would actually compromise in your thinking but you are clearly a biased homer, and if i actually cared im sure i could find posts from you that said Caleb Jones was a top4 D. You overvalue magic beans

Utterly irrelevant. As I said before,
Quote:
I don't really care what you think of Lavoie

Edmonton rejects even if you took Lavoie out of the deal.

(Interesting that you hate the prospect yet you traded for him, lol.)

He's French, its not complicated, and Bergevin loves size. Dwight King, Michael McCarron, etc. This is an ACGM site not a site that makes all players traded elite.

A 2m dollar player in Zach Sanford had to be moved to fit STL under the cap yet they got a young player out of it in Logan Brown. According to your ridiculous logic, ST Louis would have had to pay a 1st rounder to dump a bottom 6 forward in Sanford.

If Sanford gets Logan Brown (much better upside than Lavoie). A younger and better Lehkonen gets more. Pointe finale. You Oilers fans love to talk up these marginal players, Tyler Benson (exposed in expansion), Caleb Jones.

I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis.

I'm not following your logic here though. I'd ask you to explain but I don't think you'll be unbiased, so let me just put the facts out here:

Me: "Edmonton rejects... they aren't giving up a good prospect for an overpaid 4th liner" (post #11)

You: "You make it sound like Edmonton never overpays when they always do. Lehkonen has better value than Lavoie. Its laughable to think Lavoie value is higher." (post #14)

Me: "Lehkonen would be a 4th liner in Edmonton, so at $2.5M he's overpaid and not worth spending a good prospect on." (post #15)

You: "Silly, you mean like assuming that Lavoie actually blossoms into anything more than a bottom 6 thus at best a poor man's Lehkonen. Arturri gets paid 2.3M for one if youre gonna continue your delusions which isnt overpaid for what he brings.

[complete quote of a scouting report]

You never were joking around and you were the one who went crazy over Lavoie. I literally made no claims about Lavoie at all other than that he is a "good prospect". That's it. You went nuts about it.

I just thought I'd point out the definition of Asperger's: Asperger’s syndrome (AS) is one of a group of neurological disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). AS is considered to be on the mild end of the spectrum. People with AS exhibit three primary symptoms:

- having difficulty with social interaction
- engaging in repetitive behavior
- standing firm on what they think

https://www.healthline.com/health/asperger-syndrome

My son was diagnosed with ASD some years ago so I do know something about it and I am fully sympathetic. Have a great day.
