You have only a 21 man roster. You can get 22 by moving Highmore or a contract like that up and i don't know what it will take to sign Pettersson.

Because Scheifele is their best player, Hughes won't make their defense any better in terms of defending, and honestly it's better now with the Dillon and Schmidt additions.

In 2 years there might be a trade out of Winnipeg for scheifele, this would be kinda like the hawerchuk for housley, at the current moment though I think the Jets are all in on the current squad.

Severely disagree with this statement, they've gotten significantly better this off season, and how would Quinn Hughes, the defensive liability help them? Guy won the "Green Jacket" this year for worst +- in the league and deservedly so, he's god awful defensively...

While i think he can be a pretty good #1 guy however he can be an elite #2 and by losing Scheifele we leave a massive hole at 2C for Copp or Statsny to fill temporarily and Perfetti who is unproven to this point. Which is a massive downgrade. Sure it would be nice to have an amazing talent on the backend like Hughes but this trade does not work for Winnipeg whatsoever. They are in "Win Now" mode.

At the very least Winnipeg would need Horvat to be coming back in any deal involving Scheifele at this point in time.

Jets aren't doing this, Schiefele while defensively challenged is their 1C, they're not trading their first line center for yet another LHD.
