If we’re talking about potential , Wilde’s ceiling is top pair, whether he gets that point who knows. He’s either top 4 or bust.

I see Bode Wilde like Josh Brook in Mtl. Both were really good in the Junior but it’s more difficult putting points in the AHL
I know for us Brook turned way more physical then he usually was, and worked a lot on is defensive game. So if he could become a bottom pairind dman who can a 2nd PP unit

They have some similarities in their game - Wilde has more high end offensive skill, Brook is better defensively. Wilde was a liability defensively before he came to the AHL, so the isles have actually been sheltering him a bit and making him focus on his defensive game - the forwards in Bridgeport were terrible last season which is one of the reasons why he didn’t put up many points. If Wilde makes the NHL , I can see him as a 2nd pair , PP1
guy. No guarantees he makes it though and there’s no way he’ll be able to have an impact in a 3rd pair role

The Sharks fans may want more, but I would say this is a pretty legitimate offer. Bailey is still playing at a 50 plus point rate at a reasonable cap hit for 3 years and Wilde is still ranked in the top 5 prospects for the Islanders.
