Why would Carolina even consider this?

My thinking is: Carolina is loaded at Center and Jack Drury is blocked this season by Suzuki, D.Stepan maybe even S.Mattheos(if healthy) or J.Rees get the call b4 him.
Let alone, Aho, Thocheck, J.Staal. And their weekest prospect talent pool is LW and LHD(even though their farm system is deep and that’s subjective as well).

Hence Puustineen( A right-handed shot that plays LW/RW), who is coming over to AHL this season after killing it in Liiga the last two seasons(last season 21 goals and 41 points in 51 games; 8th in Liiga in goals; just 21 years old). And C.Phillips is a LHD( former 3rd round pick, still playing in NCAA).

And Carolina is week on their 3rd D pairing(so they could atleast throw out Pettersson/IanCole as a 3rd pairing instead of Cole/DeAngello) And if DeAngeelo hits, then fine, but that’s not likely in my opinion. Good luck with DeAngello.

And Carolina gets Pettersson, a 25 year old, Defensive D-man, that has never been a minus(-) in his career yet, plus(+) 39 for his career, has a long reach, long stick, good underlying stats and analytics, and contributes offensively enough, for another 2 seasons after this season too. At a more reasonable 3.5M per(Pens retain 500k for 3 seasons). And prospects Puustinen and C.Phillips.

That was my thinking why Carolina would consider it. Of course like every ACGM, it’s all subjective. And u both might disagree anyways.

But either way, that was my thought. Most likely, no way the Pens would trade Pettersson/Puustienen for Jack Drury either. And like I said, either way, .000000000000000001% of any of these trades on here would ever be considered anyways. So what’s the difference. Have a good day!!
