Détails additionnels:
Not sure if Detroit would do it, but they are still 4-6 years away from being where they want to be. At that point Larkin would be 30ish, while the players Montreal is offering are all younger and likely to peak when Detroit is ready to pop. I haven’t seen anything saying Detroit is looking to trade Larkin, but I thought this was an interesting possibility.

You can't get someone's captain and 1st line center for some late picks and "okay" prospects.

The main issue with the Larkin trade is that it doesn't really have anything to entice Detroit. Mysak is probably the only player in the trade that Detroit would be interested in, as a center prospect. The rest are all low-level prospects that aren't in positions of need and don't really make the pipeline any better. I just don't think Montreal has enough prospects that Detroit would want and have use for, and it makes this kind of trade between the two very difficult and unlikely.

What if Montreal replaces Jordan Harris with Kaiden Guhle and Tuch and Ylonen with another first round pick in 2024? I think that is a good mix of quality and quantity for 1 player.

Still no, no reason to trade Larkin for anyone not named suzuki or Caulfield. Most people may see Larkin as 2C on most teams but in Detroit he's our 1C, hometown boy, captain and wants to be there and win with Detroit.

Also your view on where Detroit is in their rebuild is quite skewed. The team is 2-3 years from competing, maybe 4-6 from being perennial cup threats on a consistent basis but they should be battling for a playoff spot in the next 2-3.

That's a bit more appealing. The only other changes I'd make are maybe adding Evans and bringing one of those thirds to a second. That brings it closer in terms of value, but still doesn't make it something that Detroit would jump on. It's not easy to trade your young captain. I feel like Suzuki or Caufield would have to be involved in some way, but at that point, I don't know that it would make sense for Montreal. If Montreal had more high-level prospects, they could possibly get Detroit to think about it, but right now there's a big chasm between Suzuki/Caufield and the rest of the Habs prospect pool.
