If that truly is the ask for Eichel, I would gladly walk away!

I’d consider a 1-1 involving yam but kosk is tough to include just because of where the team is at goaltending wise.

I don't think its a bad value for either but i don't know if it makes sense for all parties. If you take fiala there,s no one to play with eichel, if you retain on eichel your going to have trouble retaining players in 3 years when your still retaining and paying skinner.
For the olofsson deal you would need holland to be high on olofsson and low on yamamoto (whose 4 years younger). Im not sure that's the case.

I wouldn't. Look at Olofsson's 5v5 numbers - he's absolutely useless except on the power play, and he isn't good enough to take Draisaitl's spot on the PP.

Easy no for Edmonton, Olofsson isn't worth his salary to them. They shouldn't trade a 7th for him.

I agree, our PP is good enough, especially with the additions of Hyman, and Foegele. We would need guys that are good 5v5. Our PP will be the best in the league… I don’t think we need much more players on offence. Ours is pretty good, if everyone clicks!

Yam brings a lot at both ends up the ice, likely has a much higher ceiling than Olofsson. Would rather keep betting on him to take another step than make a move like this.

I understand your perspective however my thinking here is in my opinion yam is 2-3 years away from being physically capable of being the player we all want him to be. Needs to add a ton of lower body strength highly doubt can achieve that in one offseason takes time then he will need to adjust his skating style a lot more goes into guys that are very undersized. What this could help provide is a better second unit pp which I’d really like to see happen and get more than 10-15 seconds allowing Bouchard more opportunity to prove himself. I’d have jp kass archie Ryan all as my 5-5 Rw with also having the option to move Hyman over. Olofsson can play the left side.

Cutting McDavid & Draisaitl's PP time sounds like a good idea to you? hushed

Olofsson will NEVER be the player Yamamoto is today, let alone the one you want him to be in 2-3 years. And he's not going to be cheaper in the medium-term either, as his QO is $3.66M for next year or he walks as a UFA. Yamamoto will be cheaper than that. There's no upside for the Oilers here, no matter how you look at it.

I think the Sabres should trade Olofsson.
We have Skinner, who will produce with the correct coach, Bjork, Girgensons and Rosen in the wings.
This is great.

If Minnesota thought they were close, they are not giving up much of the current team to get him.
If I were the Sabres GM, I would try to get recent draft picks who will be ready for the NHL next year.
Rossi is the type of player, plays center and would the Sabres 3 young guns, while not one of the them will ever make us forget about Jack, collectively will be better than Jack and nothing of value
While Fiala would be a great addition to the Sabres, I think Minnesota would want to keep him to play with Jack.
Replace Fiala with Calen Addison RHD drafted in 2018 by the Penguins,
I know Fiala is more valuable, but TBH, two firsts, Rossi and Fiala is too much.
Then the Sabres have two more first round picks, a RHD and Center prospects who should be ready play in 2022-23 when Power joins the team

Idk your certainly higher on yam than I am. Don’t get me wrong I do like yam just as I did with bear just struggle to find a suitable spot for him to play that gets the most out of him.

Yamamoto can play anywhere from 1RW to 3RW IMO. In limited minutes with McDavid he has fantastic underlying numbers, so actually that would be my first choice for him.

He's 4 years younger than Olofsson and does everything better, at least at 5v5. Olofsson is a soft perimeter player who doesn't go to the high danger areas or get very involved in board battles. That's why he's good on the powerplay only, because he has space and time to get set up while others do all the work.
