Ducks fan here!

-Way, way, wayyyy too much for Manson, not to mention that I have a hard time believing that Carolina can fit him under the cap, even with 50% retained. That was absolutely the reported price, but I can't imagine we get it. IMO, we'd be lucky to get a 2nd+B prospect. I've said it on here a bunch of times though-There's value in keeping Manson to eat the tough minutes so that they can ease Drysdale in if he's on the team this year. Carolina also have Bear, Pesce and ADA on the right side, so they're fairly well set.

-Bouchard would be a fun return for Rakell, but I can't see it. Likely a 1st+ok prospect *if* they can get him going offensively (Play him with Comtois and Zegras you cowards!).

I very much doubt that Dostal will debut this year, though he does seem like he's pretty close to being NHL ready. If one of Stolie or Gibby goes down they don't really have anyone else to go to right now though, so I suppose he could end up getting a few games. As for Guhle? Meh. Larsson and Mahura are ahead of him on the depth chart, and neither are particularly good. Guhle is most assuredly a waiver candidate before opening night.

As for the lineup-Steel will absolutely be playing.

Any GM paying that much for Manson could be fired after the season (unless they win the cup). There must be cheaper options. For example, despite Savard just signed with MTL, I assume he would be cheaper.

No way Murray fleeces the Waddell like that. Manson won't get either asset back. I'd expect a 2nd + some kind of prospect. I also doubt the Oilers would give up Bouchard

Dostal will likely play another season in the AHL. But I think he'll play a few games in the NHL (like 4-7 games). I don't think Guhle will play for the Ducks this year or ever tbh. Mahura and Benoit have both surpassed him and the Ducks have many good LD prospects that aren't in the AHL yet (Zellweger, Thrun, LaCombe).

Stolarz silently recorded good season in 20/21. If I am SEA, I would take him in exp draft.

Ducks fans all know it. He's a solid backup. But due to Anaheim being in a small market (and being bad) it went under the radar.

I always forget about Benoit. Guy was solid over that little mini sample size last year. I wouldn't be opposed to giving Curran a look at some point this year too.

I'm pretty torn on Drysdale. I'm hoping that he has had a really solid offseason and that we'll see significant growth this year, but if he looks out of place in training camp, I wouldn't hesitate to send him back to the OHL.

I love Stolie as much as the next guy, but an 8 game sample size isn't really something to set mile high expectations on. Fleury was the clear choice, with Shatty a distant second. Plus, Seattle ended up signing Grubauer, which would have put Stolarz as the 3rd stringer, who they would have then lost via waivers.

I ˝suspect˝ some of worse teams held few players down on purpose - to not be selected in exp draft. In draft I would select Driedger, Kahkonen (waivers exempt) and Stolarz. They could still trade Stolarz back as they did with Vanecek (or to other team).

Yeah, you’re off your rocker in your valuation of a rental Manson.

I think that would only hurt his development. In hindsight he should've played a few more games in the AHL. If I'm not mistaken, he'd be AHL eligible if he had played 20 games.

If Holland made that trade the fan base would blow up and he not only would be chased out of town but wouldn’t be welcome back in the wonderful Alberta. Bouchard is way too high of an asking price.

Yup, and his valuation of Bouchard is just as bad. Not in a million years!

That's sort of where I'm going with it...if he could start the year in the AHL I'd be all for it...just don't want to see him get put into a situation which he's not ready for, which is what happened last year.

Take out Bouchard and Edmonton would consider... but Rakell isn't the player-type they've been targeting and they likely don't have the cap space anyhow.

Thanks for trying on our team! As you can see, you've run into one of the more honest fanbases on CapFriendly, as all of us agree that you've overvalued our players in the two significant trades you've proposed.

As usual, I have little (and in this instance, nothing) substantive to add to what my esteemed colleagues @Lenny7 and @TZ11 have said. (Note that our cohort @Salzy has seen this post and didn't feel a necessity to add anything.). The only comment I can dream up is that it wouldn't surprise me, if and when we trade Manson or Rakell, that we retain cap to facilitate the deal.

Thanks for your feedback guys! I'd just like to note that I completely forgot to have both these guys retained at 50%, which was part of the basis of both these trades. I'm an east coast fan so I don't get to see the ducks, or any west coast team for that matter, very much, so it was difficult to properly value those guys. (in nearly 9 years of watching hockey, this year is the first time ill get to see a west coast team play in person.) Thanks for the feedback on prospects as well, from what I've seen from Dostal I've liked him, but again I haven't seen much.

Oilers dont need Rakell and they are not giving bouchard for him. My guess is the ducks get a 2nd and a mid level prospect for Rakell at trade deadline.
