Description
This acgm is about putting our future stars in the best position to succeed while not bringing down the rest of the team.

Put wahlstrom on barzals wing and on pp1. He will get more O-zone starts on line 1 and will be playing with an elite playmaker. He wont always be thinking defense first like he is on JGPs wing.
He could also be a big help on a struggling PP. A great shot with a great passer and a great net front presence in lee. Our PP could be functional finally.

If you were to create the perfect partner for dobson on nhl 22 it would be an exact replica of adam pelech. With that being said, we would need to find the perfect partner for pulock in order to make this a reality.
He has been playing on PP1 and should continue to do that. The thing that is underrated about him, and the problem with leddy and pjlock is hes a good passer. Pulock has a great shot and leddy is a great skater but none of them are great passers. Thats what you need from a dman QBing the PP. Also not having to run the PP as barzal will be doing that helps to take some of the pressure and responsibility off his shoulders. With a shot like wahlstroms to pass to and lee in front if he shoots it, he has some nice pieces to play with.

I know chychrun isnt for sale, and certainly not for 2 1sts but i think this would be an offer Arizona would consider.

I know quality doesnt equal quality, but these are our quality pieces. 2 1sts, a real solid prospect in bolduc, wilde whos a low floor high ceiling guy, a reclamation project in bellows who i personally think will be better than most on cf do, a mid-late round pick when panik is flipped, and holmstrom who shouldntve been a 1st round pick but has shown some real promise, especially on the international stage.

So you think Arizona would want 4 B prospects, a cap dump, and two late 1sts for an elite 2-way D-man on a mouth-watering contract? He is the cornerstone of Arizona's rebuild, he isn't going anywhere. His value is comparable to: Beauvillier, Dobson, Sorokin, 1st. At least imo, that offer evens seems on the low end

Beauvillier, Dobson, Sorokin, and a 1st lol. I agree this offer wouldn’t get it done but The isles wouldn’t even give up two out of those 4 assets for chycrun

How much do you think i would have to add to this to make a deal. OR is there another LHD (better than pelech) that might be moved by his team.

I think it would cost one of Wahlstrom/Dobson + a 1st for Chychrun (isles wouldn’t do that). There are like 5-6 LHD better than Pelech and none of them are available. Chychrun isn’t even better than Pelech. The only LHD that could be had are Lindholm/Ekholm and it will cost a lot. That’s why I think it’s smart to go for undervalued D like Kulak/Dunn/Soucy

That's a little steep to expect anyone to pay, but your heart is in the right place.

But yeah, why would Arizona trade a 23 year old 1D on a sweetheart deal for anything short of a kings ransom?

Chychrun is 100% better than pelech. I agree its much smarter to go for an undervalued guy but in this scenario where pelech is playing LD2 i need a LD1.

Chychrun is a better goal scorer than Pelech, but he’s not better at driving offense and he’s not better defensively. Pelech is in the 15-20 range and Chychrun is in the 25-30 range. There were only 5 defenseman who were better at generating quality scoring chances than Pelech last season.

That’s why separating pelech-Pulock makes no sense. Give Dobson a decent two way D and the pairing will become one of the better 2nd pairings in the league

Hold on... so you're telling me that Pelech, who had 14 points, is a better play driver than Chychrun, who had 41 points on Arizona??

What the hell

Is Tyson Barrie a better offensive play driver than Slavin because he had more points? Putting up points is different than driving offense.

That literally does not make logical sense, chychrun is a far, far better offensive player than pelech and anyone who has actually watched the two instead of just staring at charts all day will tell you so

Chychrun a better goal scorer , but he’s not better at driving offense. If you actually watch both players, it’s easy to see Pelech is the better offensive play driver. He’s better at moving the puck from defense to offense and pushing play forward. Pelech is also better at making subtle plays in the ozone to generate high danger scoring chances. Not everything is about points. Using the excuse that Chychrun plays for Arizona is a flawed argument because his quality of teammates was higher than Pelech’s last season. His most common linemates at even strength were Garland, Dvorak , Kessel, and Keller.

If a player is supposedly good at driving offense, wouldn't it make sense that they would have participated in a lot of goals?

He did - Pelech’s GF/60 (how many goals for the player is on relative to the league) is above average. Not everything is about points.

He was also very good offensively, the point here is that Pelech was better. Pelechs xGF/60 (driving offense) was 3 SD last season which means he generated offense 3x rate of a league average defenseman.

The goal of the game is to score and to prevent goals. If scoring goals doesn't say anything about how good the player is offensively, then what is the point of the game?
