Dog house as in being put on the 4th line and such. And some of the narrative about him being that he needs to be better and/or traded.
This was just a thought as OTT could use a vet middle 6 C and it would save them some money.
I see, it has been hard a bit with the coaching staff but I think it was more to lit a fire under his ass. He only played 2 of the first 6 games last season, even though he was clearly better than some of the guys playing (Anisimov, Stepan, Paquette, Galchenyuk, Tierney...). Once they started to "sort out" the lineup he played regularly and only got out of the lineup when he got injured.
Yes, if he could be better that'd be nice of course as he could earn his salary but the vast majority of Sens fans agree that from his recent level of play, he's about 1 M$ overpaid, which isn't crippling by any means.
The fact that he's Chabot's best friend and well appreciated around the team makes it unlikely that they trade him just to get rid of his salary. They are even below the cap floor as we speak, and will only reach it once Tkachuk is signed.
Sens could possibly still add Henrique but I think the Ducks would have to retain more and take Chris Tierney in return.
