I was just bored, and decided to try and make Buffalo a contending team. I did break up some of the core, and got rid of some good prospects, but tried to keep it mainly intact, and tried to improve some of the needed areas. I got Lindholm and Andersson for a starting Centermen and top pairing right defencemen. I got Sundvisqt and Tuch to improve the right side, and got Kappo Kakhonen for a better Golatending option, and plan to cycle through the goalies, for a three way goalie tandom. I also got rid of Eakin, Bjork and Toranki to clear up some of those spots for the newer players. I signed Zach Parise to a one year contract since nobody else has, and although it is unlikely, this is for fun, and its a one year contract. Trust me, I know some of these trades will raise some controversy, and I tried to keep it fair, but I know they aren't perfect. Also, side note, none of these lines are exact, feel free to arrange them however you see fit. If you want, feel free to counter offer some of these trades in the comments, and leave your thought's and opinions, and let me know if you think this team could make the playoffs, or if they are doomed to be another basement team. I also hope I don't offend any Sabres fans haha.
Samuelsson > Lindholm right now why would Buffalo give up so much to get worse. Also very questionable wingers with a very unproven center group, this is exactly why Buffalo doent need to be trading for dmen right now, like wasting Eichel for Andersson

Honestly, I probably should have gave up a prospect with less value, or gotten more, so thank you for pointing that out. I just wanted both Lindholm brothers on the same team.
Considering all the competition there will be in the Atlantic, I'd say they don't make the playoffs with this team. Close, but with the amount of times they would play Tampa, Florida, Toronto, and Boston I don't see it happening.
Lindholm hasnt been good in years. IDK why Ducks get overrated all the time because of their stats from 2017
First of all, Lindholm has definitely been good more recently than 2017. At worst, he was so-so in 19-20 and mostly out injured last season. Any way you slice it, Samuelsson has played all of 12 NHL games, and not that impressively. Not at all sure how you imagine he's better than Lindholm today.
Well that depends, this roster could definitely reach the wildcards in terms of standings, but they wouldn't get many of the trade proposals through to begin with.
Back to the drawing board.
Minnesota isn't trading Kaapo kahkonen, good 1b for nobody and 2nd round pick, and 5th. h round pick. Minnesota says no. They rather keep their good young G with Talbot especially because they don't have anyone else

Well you clearly didnt watch Samuelsson and are judging him based on his point total. Impressive is the literal description those 12 games. Lindholm regressed - regressed - then was hurt, he wasn't a good dman to start, just a typical offensive dman

1- No, I'm not judging him solely on point total (duh) and he was okay in those 12 games. Nothing to knock anyone's socks or, ya know, be hailed as better than Lindholm already.

Ok tell me which team(s) this sabres team finishes ahead of.
TBL
FLA
BOS
TOR
PHI
CAR
NYI
NYR
NJD
WSH
PIT
The sabres ⬆️ have 2 top 6 wingers, a very shaky 2C. Someone theyre hoping will break out and become a 2C but who certainly isnt rn. Their defense is good but their goaltending is either senior citizens or very unproven, especially playing behind that minnesota team.

I was trying to be nice.
And I could see this roster having an outside chance of beating out Devils, Rangers and Flyers. Especially Devils since they would lose Severson with nothing significant going back on their roster.
But like I said, the Severson trade and most of the others would never go through realistically.

They dont have the top end talent or goaltending anything like the rangers or devils. Also with a functional coach the rangers should be better.
The flyers goalies wont be nearly as bad and their defense is much better. PHI will either win the division or come in 2nd behind CAR imo.
