Alex Kerfoot and Christian Dvorak have virtually identical career stats ... and they're only 16 months apart, both in their mid 20's.

And Kerfoot is just as good defensively and makes $1,000,000 less per season ... yet people call Kerfoot a bad #3C and a cap-dump.

That's the truth ... But I guess the silver lining is Dvorak only has to replace Kotkaniemi + Danault + a 2nd round pick.

Not going to lie, that shocked me that Kerfoot and Dvorak have stats that similar, and that they’re that close in age.

I don’t get how people are calling Dvorak an upgrade over KK. Sure he’s cost controlled for the next 4 years, but he’s older than KK.

Kk + 2nd for Dvorak + 3rd essentially which is an awful return for MTL.

KK was likely leaving MTL anyways so maybe this is the best they could do.

But Dvorak is better with more upside. Kerfoot not really a C either. Plays more wing. Best season was 1st gone downhill since. Not really close.

KK wasn’t very good either tho so there’s that. There is some upside but he was never going to be what they thought he was. He was a reach on draft day, something you should not do with pick 3.

You could also add that they didn't play with the same linemates. Dvorak didn't play with Nylander and Tavares....

Kerfoot has been Toronto's #3C for two straight years.

Last year Kerfoot had 20 even-strength points in 56 games.

Last year Dvorak had 19 even-strength points in 56 games.

Kerfoot plays on the penalty kill and doesn't get power-play time like Dvorak.

So even-strength points is the only accurate way to compare them.

Kerfoot is better overall and has more potential in my opinion.

LOL neither did Kerfoot ... He has centered the Leafs 3rd line for 2 straight years with Mikheyev and a mixture of scrubs.

Dvorak also gets lots of power-play time and points ... Kerfoot doesn't so almost all of his points are at even strength.

He has much better even strength production than Dvorak while playing 2 minutes less per game with worse line-mates.
