I'm not high on Holmstrom and would prefer to get Bolduc in a NYI trade, but this is still a pretty good deal. Hard to say no to, especially without retention.

Way to much for Ekholm. He is worth at most 1st and Aho, more likely 2nd and Wilde.

There will most definitely be a bidding war if ekholm does become available. A lot of teams would love to upgrade their top 4 for a playoff run

I'd be interested in Räty as well. I have no idea how much NYI fans value him though, so I can't tell if he'd be a non-starter for them or not.



I think you're undervaluing him significantly. Pretty much any contending team would happily beat those offers.

Take a look at what middle pairing d have returned, what I proposed is more then fair. If you think your getting a 1st and an A prospect for Ekholm you are mistaking.

As an Islander fan, I'd do this because I believe they would be able to re-sign him in the offseason. I'd be more keen on doing it at the deadline though, only if Salo/Bolduc (Chara?) don't work out.
