I think MTL should pay buffalo in an extra pick for them to retain salary, That 10 million will set the bar for suzuki and caufield's contract

I don't think this gets there.
I have a hard time seeing an Eichel to MTL trade that doesn't include Suzuki or Caufield.

Buffalo is trading from a weak position here, Eichel has been pretty public about how he feels about the organization. When a deal is finally made I think its will be underwhelming what they get as a return.

I think using Guhle as the second piece is problematic as young LD is not a need or priority for Buffalo.

2 1sts, Caulfied, Drouin is probably more realistic.

False, Buffalo is trading from an auctioneer's perspective. You are not winning with a lowball like this, especially while being a division rival

I hate to say this buddy, but when it comes to trading for centers, MTL is currently between a rock and a hard place. Every team in the NHL knows what the situation is with the Habs and their center problem. Because of that, every single team is going to charge the Habs extra when it comes to trading for a Center. Plus, for Eichel, their is the divisional rival kind of thing. But the divisional rival thing aside, what once was 4 1st round equivalents is more than likely going to become something like 6 just for MTL. Teams will charge a premium for other teams who are desperate, and MTL is desperate for centers right now. If you want a really good example of this, just look at the Kuemper trade. Colorado was extremely desperate for a goalie and they paid a pretty penny to get Kuemper. Teams will be asking a lot higher than real market value, and then they might be willing to talk the price down a little, but only to a point where it is still higher than the player’s actual value, with the premium included in the package. If MTL wants to land Eichel now, unfortunately either Suzuki or Caufield would have to be included in that package.

I would agree with you if he had one or two years left on his contract. He has 5 years left so they could say too bad, play here or do not play at all. He can not go to any other league world wide due to the contracts the NHL has with the other league's. If he sits and does not play, they do not have to pay him and would get some form of relief due to his stance. He has really no leverage unlike PLD had with only a two year deal.leading up to free agency.

Now do I think they will get four 1st round picks and a player as rumored, no because of neck issues. They will not get garbage either. If he returns to form then who knows what he will bring back then. But to say they are not in the drivers seat, is not correct. Sabres might not be in total.control but they are more in control.then what you stated.

Also trading to a division rival will cost more and that starts with two 1st and at least Caufiled or Suzucki.
