Quoting: Rob32sjsharks
that's a lot of potential to be great for sharks, and also a lot of potential to be a bunch of busts.
but I would jump on this.
Colin White is already a good 3rd liner
Erik Brannstrom won't bust, solid 2nd pairing D-man in the making (ala Tobias Enstrom)
1st round pick : up to the team making the pick but with scouting evolution, it's getting easier and easier to draft a player in the first round.
Logan Brown : High end skill-set. I believe he can be a good NHL player but has to be able to stop being injury prone first.
Novak : "throw in" prospect. Could possibly be a solid AHL player
Quoting: lilfimpen
Doable. Certainly one of the more fair Hertl offers but I’d prefer Batherson be in the deal over Brannstrom and Brown.
Batherson + White + 2022 1st round pick (OTT)
I don't see Ottawa doing that
They might be more willing to trade their 1st in the OP scenario because they'd be ADDING Hertl but if Batherson is going the other way, how much are they improving? Way too risky to trade that 1st, and also doubt they'd interested to trade Batherson anyway. They must think he has significantly more value to reach.
I understand the "I'd prefer this or that" but Brannstrom and Brown are available because of context. For Brannstrom, it's because they don't want him on RD and there is Chabot and Sanderson who will totally block him on LD. Brown is available because the relation between the Sens and his dad doesn't seem ideal. Their camp think he didn't get a "fair shake" when in reality it's Logan who often get injured when he could have gotten a callup.
