It’s hard to believe backstrom is not on there, but then again it be hard to switch him out with one of them centers. The same with foresberg, Johnny gaudreau, maybe elias petterson

Considered all of them except backstrom. I dont think hes close to this list. Couturier was also in consideration. But i kept going back to who do i take out for 1 of them.

I was considering heiskanen but im a big klingberg fan. Maybe thats why i decided he was better idk. Either way the DAL blackouts are the best jerseys in the entire league.

I think defenseman are paid to defend and there is no one better in the NHL than Slavin for that.

I think the center who was on pace for 30+ goals is better than the one on pace for 8.

Draisaitl is way too high. He's good but if he didn't have McDavid I am not sure he's be a point a game player. Many will point to the one time he scored a bunch for like 10 games when McDavid was out but over his entire career he benefits massively from McDavid. He's not a top 4 centre, not sure if I'd even have him in my top 10. I think Barzal and Petterson are more dangerous on their own than he is. And many other guys are better defensively than Draisaitl. Piling up points from playing with McDavid on the PP and half the time at 5v5 is why he scores as much as he does.

Nylander is better defensively than both and is even or better offensively.

Josi was the Norris trophy winner two seasons ago. Don’t get me wrong, I think Slavin is really good at what he does. I think the gap between the offensive ability between the two is greater than the defensive ability between the two. In other words, Josi provides more defense than Slavin does offense. I think we’ll see it this season when Carolina doesn’t have a very good offensive defenseman how important they can be.

As for the other one, I like Aho and think he’s a great player. Bergeron is a great center as well. Going off one season isn’t fair to Eichel though. He was hurt and he was playing in Buffalo. We’ve seen the numbers that he can put up. They’re impressive, especially in Buffalo. Just ask Taylor Hall.
