Couple problems:
1. Mikheyev isn’t signing for 800k
2. We shouldn’t be trading Sandin
3. Reilly is going to get a lot more than that, we can’t afford him
4. Stop giving away 1st round picks, we’re mortgaging the future

Makes more sense for New York than it does for Toronto. Leafs left handed defence depth at prospects isn't strong and moving the best one doesn't make sense. Wingers like Wahlstrom are replaceable, defence with high ceilings aren't as easily replaced.

20 man roster right up against the cap and you’ve undershot half of your contracts.

I'll say this, if the Pens were looking to move Marino, then a 1st + a decent player or good prospect probably gets it done. Holl is pretty terrible defensively, but brings decent offense and a little snarl, so I don't hate this if the Pens were looking to start the rebuild and move Marino out.

I think right now is probably the lowest value Marino will have. His first season was great, his second season was perceived as a step back, but only in terms of offense. He was a beast defensively and my bet is now that he's settled in we see his offense tick back up.

Wahlstrom will be on Barzals wing this season, he is not easily replaceable. Trading Wahlstrom when the isles lack shooting talent makes no sense.

Pens say no. Its gonna take alot more imo.

1st (at least a top 15 pick), Good prospect (A or B prospect), and a decent roster player (Someone who can play in the middle 6). Even then that may not be enough.

Quality wingers are easier to replace than quality defenceman. The league has been that way for a long time.

I was never saying that Wahlstrom isn't tough to replace or a good fit for New York. Just saying that it's tougher for Toronto to replace Sandin than it is for New York to replace Wahlstrom.
