Description
For the record, I don't want to lose KK, but MB does have an ego, and he won't bend over backward for KK.

I think the habs know they are out of contention... but they will offer some very offensive hockey and give a good show. Therefore, the idea to have Drouin at C with good winger is not half bad if you shelter them in very offensive set-up.

I think guys like Chariot and Lehkonen will be traded at TD for picks if we are out of the playoff race. They can afford to tank one year after going to the SCF. Especially in a deep draft like this one. A chance at drafting Shane Wright is fun ( and maybe two chances as the Canes might miss them as well).

Only Price, Petry and Gally will remain of the old core. Lets start anew.

At D, I can see Norlinder making the team because he`s got some unique skill set in the habs depth chart (a PMD). But he will play on a sheltered duo with Romanov to start like in the playoffs, but both the kids will be put in offensive position to replace a guy from the top 4- rotating the D constantly.

PP will be dangerous this year... no doubts about it.

Suzuki will be the top centre, Poehling Second, Paquette third & Perrault 4th. Perrault came into the league as a bottom 6 centre with the ducks and caps. And in winnipeg he played everywhere at forward. He is so verstile and even play D, hes a good pick up and be 4th line centre so that don't have to play one of the wingers at an unartural position.

i agree with all of that expect the d pairings. Well i think you may be right given the tendencies in Montreal to shelter young players, especially dman, i think it makes more sense to pair Romanov with Savard and chairot with norlinder. Pairing them with a stay at home vet will give them a bit more room to grow and take some chances offensively.

He's a 4th liner at best.

based on? Hes our top defensive center, he ideally would be slotted on the 4th line and on the number one penalty kill. Point being that break down of center is very far off from the reality of what the habs have. Perrault will not be lining up at center unless theres some injuries. Evans will probably start at 3c unless someone else is brought in or Poehling blows everyone away at camp. And i think Ducharme will try the Drouin experiment before throwing Poehling into the 2c slot.

He is good on the board and wins battles. he is big enough to be in front of the net.

Yeah, Armia's certainly a legit PP option, I've always liked the guy (since he got to Mtl anyways).

But, I really don't see the top paid forward on MTL that is making $6.5 for several more years, not getting PP time in year 1 of the new contract.

Gally has always been used mostly at 5v5.

Huh??

PP TOI per game
20/21 1:56 (6th among MTL fwds)
19/20 2:03 (5th)
18/19 2:27 (3rd)
17/18 2:26 (4th)
16/17 2:03 (5th)
15/16 2:56 (1st)
14/15 2:26 (2nd)
13/14 2:26 (3rd)
12/13 2:21 (7th)

He's always been on the PP. I know that and I'm a Leafs fan.

Again, extremely unlikely Armia replaces Gally on the PP.

Armia lost his PP time last season, I doubt that changes going forward unless a few of the other wingers are dealt at some point (which is unlikely).
