Trade bait value

Explications
Ranked from most value to least:
Bertuzzi - first of all I don’t think they will actively shop him, and at his age, he’ll still be in his prime come playoff contention for the Wings. That being said, if a significant over payment came knocking, Stevie would consider.
Value: first or second line Center under 26 y/o.

Leddy: I don’t think Stevie brought him in just to be trade bait; the left side of our D is very weak without him. If they choose to partner him up with Seider than there’s value in keeping him for continuity in Seiders development. That said, he’s on an expiring contract and if an extension isn’t agreed upon by the deadline, he likely gone. Anything less than what we paid for him (mid round 2nd) would look bad for the GM so the bidding starts at a first.
Value 1st, maybe 1st plus a prospect

Fabbri - also won’t be actively shopped but would be much easier to replace, not sure if he is still with the team after he reaches UFA anyways.
Value: 2nd and a “b” list prospect.

Stetcher: probably our best trade bet, RD is pretty well set with Hronek/Seider/ and potentially Lindstrom, Stetcher may stay on as that 3D or switch sides and play a bigger role, but I think if his numbers remain consistent or better than last year, he’ll garner a lot of interest. He’s also in his prime years and may not want to wait till his early to mid 30s to be on a contender.
Value: 3rd plus “c” level prospect or 2nd if he improves his game.

Gagner: he actually put up some very good defensive numbers last year. If he continues that trend then he’d be a solid depth guy on a contender who can improve the PK and add a veteran voice.
Value: 3rd/4th or a average prospect

Greiss: goalies rarely change teams at the deadline and when they do, it rarely works out. Besides, I don’t think Det loses its 1B to anything less than a 3rd.
Value: 3rd plus a cap dump replacement G

Namestikov: doesn’t fit into the long term plans here, but can be a solid depth and PK piece for a contender.
Value: 4th, maybe a 3rd with salary retention.

Stall: I think he’s content on retiring here but if a true contender wanted to bring him aboard then maybe. Either way, he doesn’t have much value.
Value: 4th w/retained salary

A 2nd line winger is worth a 1c under 26? I thought only Leaf fans grossly overrated their players.

Like I said “only a significant overpayment gets him,” I also put the floor at 2c not 1c.

A 2C is worth a lot more than a 2nd line winger. why would anyone pay a better asset for a player?

It's just the fact we aren't shopping him, I bet he could be traded for a different package as well but there is no reason to trade him. He's a fan favourite, plays a hard style of game, good defensively and puts up decent numbers. Probably depends on the team's needs and what they have in excess. Like I could see a team like LA trading a decent centre for him like Vilardi. But really no need to trade the guy if we aren't going to get an improvement for the team.

More than you can afford pal... FERRARI....

But actually Bertuzzi is probably something like Robertson a first and something else.
Fabbri could probably be a first or a second and like Abramov.

If you think Bertuzzi is high it's because it's going to take an over payment for him to be had. I also don't think there is a ton of reason to trade Fabbri, him and Bertuzzi are really good friends and I think he likes where he is at.

Bertuzzi has another year after this one, it's really hard to say. I could see them sticking around, but I also would like to see what kind of returns we could get for them.

With Raymond, veleno and berggren coming up we might have to move them. But until we know what we got with them I bet we hold onto both.

Bert yes, Fabbri prob not... when Raymond, Berg, Zadina, and Veleno all come into their own; Fabbri will get bumped down the lineup to the point where he’ll prob want a better opportunity

I’d say both for Nylander. Fabbri alone will cost a 2nd and maybe abramov. And yes I know, Nylander is probably off limits but that’s the ask!

If a wings fans hasn't already said it, it would likely by Nylander and a 1st. Why? Because only wings fans seem to think trading for Bertuzzi would cost a better player and a pick.

So to get a middle 6 winger the Leafs would have to trade a 1st line winger. This is wings logic. What a joke

I think he meant the asking price for either is Nylander. Because if you make a trade with the Leafs the rules are they have to lose the trade in a landslide. I bet Larkin is worth Matthews as a starting point.

No both of those players could be in for a deal for nylander I think is what he means. If you want to trade for someone a team has no interest in getting rid of, they price will be high. That's probably the reason why they are both still red wings and not on the leafs roster right now.

Which certainly doesn't serve a rebuilding team well. Asking for better players than what you are giving up generally doesn't lead to trades being made. Yzerman is so overrated and I think Wing fans are going to learn this sooner rather than later.

Lol, you’re right, I’d much rather Dubas.. maybe then we could guarantee mediocrity for the next decade. Keep aiming for the middle there good buddy!
