Ceci isn't any improvement on Josh Manson or Kevin Shattenkirk, and he's signed for three more years after this season. Neither Lavoie (Perreault and Colangelo are better prospects) nor Lagesson (Rafferty and LaCombe are better bets) is an A prospect, and the first probably won't turn into an actual player until the 2024-2025 season at the earliest.

Not bad! Slightly overpaying on some trades. I would get rid of the Stecher trade because we have Ceci. I think trading Ceci will not be smart since we just signed him, but I don’t mind the idea of Lindholm for one year if it pushes us over the edge. That’s a lot of Merzlikins… I would get Samorukov out of that trade honestly, and if we need to add, then add a low pick, or prospect. It would be nice to get a starter. Either than that, this isn’t bad!

The return I gave for Merzlikins was the rumoured asking price from CBJ, and IMO its worth it if you can get a good goalie because right now oilers have none

Better immediately or better long term? Trading away first round picks like that is a great way of succeeding in the short term while causing more problems in the long term.

I think edmonton would do the trade but i'm not sure Columbus would. Not because it is unfair value but because they want to keep him for the future.

Not what I’m reading. May be that, justifiably, the ask for Elvis is very high. Korpi could be an improvement over Koskinen, and considering EDM is already over the cap, and still needing to sign Kailer, saving a few dollars would help.

So, even if Korpi isn’t the franchise-altering upgrade EDM wants, it is at the very least a cap-saving move. With 50% retention on Korpi, wouldn’t ya know it, EDM is under the cap. Maybe throw in a salary dump of, say, Turris and/or Russel, and now EDM can afford Kailer.

I think if Elvis were truly on the market, you’d be getting a lot more buzz around it. Plus, it likely would’ve been done already.
