As an Oilers fan I am worried about Yama not having been signed. I am also concerned about his injury history. That being said EDM has a wealth of riches on the right side (Hyman, JP and Yam) whereas on the left side its a little unproven (Benson and Holloway). Yes Drai RNH and Hyman can play the LW so there are options however I prefer players in their natural spots so adding Dvorak allows the Oilers to establish 3 scoring lines.

Where am I missing on Varlamov deal? NYI has got to be thinking about moving him as Sorokin takes the net, in addition to needing a new contract. Kassian can play the hard style that Lou loves, the market has been set by the Kuemper deal and goalies moved at the TDL don't command massive returns.

Kuemper got a 1st 3rd and a prospect as a much worse goalie and a rental. Rodrigue isnt enough to take kassian as hes a cap dump for us. Just a 1st for varlamov is also a big lowball.

Ok ... but my argument would be depth at LW vs RW while maintaining 97, 29 & 93 as centers. On the RS EDM has Hyman, JP, Yam, Kass & Archy, subtract 1 and you still have 4 NHL options, with 2 AHL call up options (Marody and Lavoie). On the LS EDM has Hyman, Foegele, & Benson or Perlini or Shore, with 1 AHL callup option (Holloway). IMO the LS is weak and until Holloway is a fulltime contributing NHLer they only have 2 NHL options there and the goal is to ice 3 scoring lines.
