That report is completely non credible. There's no way that's the best deal Buffalo gets.

Honestly theyre both close in value and only got picked a few picks away from each other but Jarventie had a very good Liga season as a youngster so you might have a point

Here’s my question , how many teams can fit his 10 mill? LA is clearly out after signing Danault , Vegas would have a tough time fitting him in, Anaheim doesn’t want to move Zegras or Comtois , so who’s left realistically?

What does Montreal have to offer? They likely don’t want to trade Suzuki or Caufield and are tight on cap .

A smart Gm would not make a move on Eichel until midway through the season. Proving he is healthy would be a big stickling point for me.

IMO replace Greig with Pinto and Brannstrom with Lassi. Don’t think the first offer is terrible but I’m insisting on building around Pinto or Norris for it make any sense if I’m Buffalo.

I think Ottawa needs to keep Norris as their 2C. I’d be fine with trading Pinto if that would be the cost .

I think Vegas finds a way, especially given Jack will be on LTIR for some time. They’ve proven they’re willing to spend assets to get a guy and sell assets for pennies on the dollar to fit him in.

At this point , wouldn’t u rather have 3 years of Krebs on an ELC tho? Isn’t that more valuable ? What if he could come in and get u 45-50pts his first year?

My ask would start with Pinto and JBD. Add a 1st/2nd and a player like Tierney and/or White to balance the cap.

I think that’s in the ballpark, would love to hold on to JBD tho , if we can swap him for 1-2 other pieces, I’d be down

I would. But I think there’s a good chance Krebs moves to wing in Vegas and they’d rather take a ppg C and win a cup in the next 3 years. Eichel probably means they move on from Smith but they brought Dadanov in to replace him. I don’t see how they aren’t the cup fav with Eichel in for Smith and a couple futures.

They’d have to move 2 roster players to bring in 10 mill so 2 of Smith, Dadonov , Tuch would have to be traded

But teams aren't really adding 10mil of cap though, it's 10 mil minus whatever money going the other way. This kind of deal isn't happening without significant cap going the other way. Buffalo will want NHL players As well I assume, whether it's a young player like Colin White or useful Vets on big contracts who can be flipped eventually like Reilly Smith or Paul Byron, I'm guessing that Buffalo will take back at least half of the Eichel contract in shorter term NHL deals.

The report was that this is Ottawa's offer, nowhere did he say that this will happen or that this is what Buffalo wants.

Yeah, but I'm saying the entire report is non credible. 95% of Hockey Buzz is just re-wording stuff from actual credible hockey writers, or just outright speculation/making stuff up. You can't take any of it seriously imo.

The very reason you want to hold on to him is the reason Buffalo would ask for him. What other piece(s) would you swap? If it isn't JBD I'd ask for Sanderson or Thomson and Greig
