That deal walks him right to UFA. It’s a risky move, Isles must think they have a small window if this is the case.

It doesn’t walk him to UFA, it buys 1 UFA year. Beauvillier will be 26 YO as a UFA, which is a good age to sign a long term deal and isles will have more contracts off the books. This has nothing to do with thinking they have a small window

Bailey. Nelson will still have 1 more year under contract. But i do agree 4.1 is a very good number considering its not a 1 year deal.

I’m predicting Nelson gets traded and they keep Pageau. I’m very confident Raty will be in the NHL in 3 years and he’ll be a center.

Theres no way nelly gets traded imo. He sometimes wears the 'A' and hes too much of a trotz guy. I could see them moving him to LW potentially, or doing what they did last year with toews (hopefully not 🤞🤞🤞). Either way he has a 16 team ntc for the rest of his contract that could make things a bit difficult.

Yeah the modified NTC makes things a bit more complicated but there will be 16 other teams he can get traded to

No im saying maybe they trade a toews (raty maybe) to hold on to a leddy - a trotz guy - (nelson).

Eh i doubt it. That was an awful trade, but it was because he was due for a new contract. Still doesn’t justify it but Raty will be on the 1st or 2nd year of his ELC, it’s a little different.

Leddy was a trotz guy and they still traded him this offseason. I think Lou was embarrassed he made the Toews trade just going off of what he said in interviews over the last year. His moves so far this offseason shows he’s learning from his mistakes to an extent
