The trade fell through for two reasons:

1. Josh Manson has a 12 team no-trade list and the Winnipeg Jets are on that list.

Manson refused to waive his no-trade list for Winnipeg.

2. The Jets and a few other teams offered either a 1st round pick or a top prospect for Manson.

The Anaheim Ducks wanted both.

During the offseason, you're allowed to exceed the salary cap by 10%.

I do agree that after acquiring Schmidt and Dillon, adding Manson would not make much sense.

To answer your question, it would probably be Dylan Demelo + one of Nathan Beaulieu or Logan Stanley.

It's one thing if Josh Manson nixed the deal, but if Murray held out for anything more than a first, he should be fired. It's not as if one more year of Manson is going to help us get into the playoffs.
