And specialy, the habs currently have the capspace for the 6,1M, because weber is out for the season and Byron out for half of the season XD ( habs currently have 8,980,773 in capspace with byron and weber on the LTIR. And with Byron on the team, the capspace is $5,580,773, but if byron is in the regular line up, the habs have too much winger so they already need to move 1 winger, so there is no more big challenge there XD). So the habs have the capspace to match the offer, The real question is: does Bergevin still believe in KK to match the offer? Or he say '' ok thanks, I will take the 1st round pick and have a more powerfull weapon to trade for a better center than KK and I can also wait until the season start to steal the player that hurricanes will be obligated to give for free or trade for peanuts'' lol.

Honestly regardless of how it plays out it works for both sides. MTL gets some draft capital for a guy who could be a 2C or plateau and max out as a 3C. If MTL matches they can use this year as a measuring stick and see where KK lands.

I love seeing Offersheets. It’s good for the game, it’s a system that more GMs should use. I’m glad that Waddell did this lol, a little payback for the Aho situation.
