If I had to bet he could probably help the offence, but you defence is bound to give up 5+ goals a game. Drai is a good player, but he isn't good enough to put up 6+ points per night

Last season, Turris played well when he was playing with NUge and Yamo on the second line.

I really like that top line and am hopeful that’s the second line when everyone is healthy. Enough skill to command attention but responsible enough to shut down and wear down other high end lines and d pairings making really difficult to put the focus on Leon and mcdavid when healthy of course. Really want to see them together.

Besides, you don't have them together here, so I'm not sure why you're putting that up as an argument. Turris belongs in the AHL - he may get called up if McDavid and Draisaitl both get injured, but not to play in the top-6. IMO in this scenario Holloway gets recalled and gets into the lineup over Turris.

Turris staying in Edmonton for the offseason training will likely earn him some extra opportunity and looks. Commitment matters right or wrong just the way I see it playing out. Lean on experience in an effort to get the team off on a good start then have Mcloed work his way in. I see no issue with that as long as the training turris put in is evident.

In the playoffs Tippett had McLeod playing as high as 2C while Turris sat in the pressbox. I don't see that changing just because Turris did some offseason training in Edmonton this summer.

People are still talking crap about EDM being a "2 player team" are just shallow trolling, have zero clue about hockey, or both. EDM sans 97 AND 29 would be crap and is barely a bubble team with all the signings, but certainly not "AHL" level / lock for 1st overall:

If anything that team NEEDS to outwork their opponents and get greasy to win games 2-1. They'll have a hard time scoring for obvious reasons but as we've all seen, hard work trumps lazy talent all day every day.

I mean that roster isn't a playoff team by any stretch but still far better than an AHL team. But we're talking about taking 2 MVP players out who also account for 25% of our cap space. Take $21mil of top forwards out of most line-ups and they look like this (no taking guys like Lucic out).

Draisaitl is the second best center in the league period. Edmonton had 2-3 Good wingers on the whole team last year. Much has changed.
