Really like this lineup and it was fun to play against them in Round 1 last playoffs. I expect them to be even better this upocoming season.

They could have had Grubauer and Driedger or one of them and 4.1-6.5M in cap space instead of a 10M tandem goalie.

They better go far because they are all in this season. No room to pay Barkov next season, they are going to have to move out a lot of depth to even get close. Even if they do manage to pay Barkov, they would still definitely lose Huberdeau the following season after having to pay Knight with Bob as a precedent deal.

Or they could have kept Driedger and had extra 7M to sign a top-pair defenseman. They could have gotten Hamilton. Endless possibilities which we sadly will never see

Guess you haven’t seen how much money is coming off the books the next two years.

Next year no money is coming off the books. Most the contracts are league minimums, which at best you replace at an even amount, and between Verhaeghe's new deal (already signed) and Ekblad's buyout ramping up, they are already committed for more money next season than is becoming available...and thats before they sign any new contracts at all (hi Tippett).

Who the hell is buying out ekblad I dont think you know who that is. And there’s like 8 million coming off the books. So 3 million for and 3.5 million for barkov and Tippett will get a bridge deal. They’ll be money just fine.

Sorry, its Yandle not Ekblad but other than that, you havn't actually looked at your team have you? Right now, before any deals are signed, outside of Barkov's deal which will need to replaced by a bigger deal ... Florida is on the hook for a million more than will be coming off the books next season. They have 4 million of Barkov's 5 to sign not only Barkov but anyone else who needs new deals.

I just told you what the numbers will be. He’s not gonna take 11 mil here he’ll get 8 x9.5 like point. There’s two roster player that will be resigned next season besides Barkov. The other 3 UVA’s won’t be back maybe accari if he comes back for 800k. But I doubt it. We have plenty of prospects coming in to fill holes. So like I said before the money will be just fine.

You told me what the numbers will be ... except they are blatantly wrong. The problem you are having is that you think a player making $800k who leaves makes 800k of room but in fact you still need a player on the ice and that 800k thats leaving is basically league minimum. That player doesn't create any room.

Here, lets do some math for you.

You have 3 players whos contracts ending create room. Acciari, Vatrano and Nutivaara. Between those 3, it creates 6.9 million. You need at very minimum 3 players to replace them and at league minimum contracts thats around 2.1 million gone before you've started leaving 4.8 million. 4.8 of room created by players leaving.

Now lets see what the Panthers are on the hook for. Verhaeghe is getting a 3.1 million raise. Your 4.8 drops to 1.7. Yandles buyout increases by 3 million. That leaves you in the hole by 1.3 million already before signing any new deals.

The Panthers will lose players next season because they can't fit them under the cap. Welcome to cap hell.

I know they will but those top 9 aren’t going anywhere. They will be just fine. With the new tv deal I’m sure the cap will increase by a mil. I did forget about yandle going up. But theyre not losing their core.

Got to move the top 9 when the bottom 3 are earning league minimum. They'll lose at minimum 2 of those top 9 to sign Barkov alone. The real culling will be the next season if they want to re-sign both Huderdeau and Knight.
