Description

I can't really tell if this is fair value or not. Essentially get two first round picks with Wyatt Johnston and the 2022 pick, two good and cheap younger players in Gurianov and Faksa, a reliable goalie which Buffalo needs, a couple veterans to fill out their roster and make Dallas cap compliant, and a mid-level prospect in Karlstrom plus the other draft picks

First things first, Buffalo is not likely to retain a dime of Eichel’s contract. There are some pieces of value here, but not enough in terms of what Buffalo actually needs. If they wanted a more expensive veteran goaltender they would have signed one in free agency already.

Stop. We’re talking about eichel and even that kinda of eichel you still do quality over quantity even if it means it’s less of quality players.

You're right about quality but if I'm a GM I need to know he can play up to at least 80% of what he was before I commit that much cap space, much less assets to get him.

.. that’s why for 90% of teams eichel won’t fit
