you're like 2 firsts shy of eichel value here, but honestly I don't think he's gonna get traded till next year at his point. Have the neck surgery this year and sit out the year then get moved next year when he has a clean bill of health. By then his NTC kicks in and Buf loses leverage

It’s funny that so many people believe Buffalo loses leverage the moment his no movement clause kicks in. The reality is he can’t force them to trade him, he can only agree to being moved. If he wants out badly enough he accepts the best deal buffalo gets in return for him regardless of where it is. He still has to show up once he has been cleared to play. Realistically I think he knows when he does return to play that playing to the best of his ability and proving he is still a star is how he gets out of Buffalo if he still wants out. Make a team want to match the Sabres asking price, it’s just that simple.

I do not think anyone would think Kane has anything near the value of Jack Eichel.
I know the Sabres also received Zach Bogosian, but he was never the equal to Myers.
The following year Stafford had one more goal than Kane, so he still had value, not a first but value.
