How future cup contender should be constructed

Description
Move pieces of your strenght for a pieces of someone else's strenght.
Trade Sean Walker during the season if everything falls apart. 2022 draft class is also rich on RHD...
And I would be surprised if Danault stays in LA beyond his NMC (beyond 2023/24).
Transactions
1.
LAK
  1. Blomqvist, Joel [Liste de réserve]
PIT
  1. Anderson-Dolan, Jaret
Détails additionnels:
PIT need Cs, LAK needs Gs. PIT also has Clang in a pipeline so they could part ways with one of the Blomqvist/Clang. PIT is in a win-now mode (JAD will turn 22 in september), LAK can wait another year or two. Anderson-Dolan for Blomqvist is overpayment on LAK side, but decent G prospects are relatively rare, expensive and hard to acquire.
2.
WSH
  1. Madden, Tyler
  2. Spence, Jordan
Détails additionnels:
WSH needs RHD prospects, LAK needs bigger LHDs. Alexeyev has advantage against Fehervary on WSH team, while drafting Clarke makes offensive-minded Spence expandable. Fehervary is safer pick and NHL ready so you need to throw something more on a table (Madden). There is likely no roster spot available for Madden in LA, while WSH slightly lacks right-shot Fs.
3.
LAK
  1. Rajaniemi, Matias [Liste de réserve]
NYI
  1. Andersson, Lias
Détails additionnels:
Tricking Lou is hardest armchair GM's job. How about former Ranger (no. 7 pick overall) who can play C and cost 2nd round pick for a ˝random˝ 6th rounder? 2017 project for contender vs 2020 prospect for team coming out of rebuild. Andersson can play now, Rajaniemi in a few years. Andersson is on a edge of bust category, while Rajaniemi could be cheap option on LHD in the future.
4.
BUF
  1. Faber, Brock [Liste de réserve]
  2. Thomas, Akil
Détails additionnels:
Drafting Power makes Samuelsson expandable. BUF needs almost everything, especially RHDs and Cs, LAK has too many of each kind. Faber is also young all-around prospect which makes sense for tanking team. Samuelsson has medium ceilling, but big players are allways in demand and are not cheap. Thomas could struggle to make LAK team and can benefit from a trade.
5.
LAK
  1. Askarov, Yaroslav [Liste de réserve]
  2. L'Heureux, Zachary
  3. Svechkov, Fedor [Liste de réserve]
NSH
  1. Björnfot, Tobias
  2. Turcotte, Alex
Détails additionnels:
Third trading piece on LAK side is Joel Blomqvist, previeusly acquired from PIT for JAD.
In 2019 draft LAK had no idea they will select Byfield next year. Other Cs are expandable. Upgrade on G and downgrade on C vs upgrade on C and downgrade on G. It is also worth of note Turcotte is 2 years older than Svechkov and Bjornfot is 2 years older than L'Heureux. Bjornfot is expandable and NAS can use young LHD. L'Heureux is desired caliber, but still young with uncertain future.

I can see you like my favorite LHD prospect Samuelsson as much as I do.
You also recognize that the Sabres black hole is RHD.
Samuelsson has already demonstrated in his short stint with the Sabres that he is NHL ready.
IMO he has a huge upside.
The Sabres would have to add but the only RHD that I would want from the Kings prospect pool is Brandt Clarke.
LA would of course say no to that.

EDIT:
Let me add, Kevyn Adams is an idiot.
Unless he is considering trading Dahlin, why did he draft Power?
But that is just another chapter of the continuing saga of the known as the Sabres.

Pens decline. Blomqvist is worth more and is one of the best goalie prospects. Pens have a very underrated goalie prospect pool.

Pens decline. They will use their good goalie prospect depth to acquire top 6 players if they trade them. The problem with Anderson-Dolan is that he is a 3C that isn’t that great at faceoffs. He’d probably just be moved to wing here which really doesn’t fix out center depth problem. Which isn’t really a big problem in all honesty. RHD is more of an issue.

Best D prospect doesn't mean too much given they always pick in the late 20s tho... he'd be the 3rd best D prospect in many systems ultimately

No guarantee whatsoever he's even in the NHL

7 NHL d ahead of him currently

Yeah it seems underrated how good the 2020 draft was and that the 11th overall pick in that draft is similar to the 5th overall pick in the 2019 draft

Yeah I never said he was the best D prospect in the league I said he is their best D prospect and he is NHL ready and a pretty good prospect. They are not giving him up for what you offered

Based on how NHL-ready he appeared last season and Granato's fondness for Samuelsson, I think the Kings would have to include Samuel ****emo or Rasmus Kupari with Faber instead of Thomas.

Are you well aware Blomqvist is years away from NHL and JAD has some experience? If it would be that simple teams would just draft Gs in early 2nd round.

Why is Blomqvist worth more in 2021 than in 2020?

Adams might accept that. I think Grans and ****emo would also be available as possible replacements for Faber and Thomas. I doubt ****emo is as valuable as majority thinks. On the other hand not many teams are desperate for LHD, best trading target for Samuelsson could be Drew Helleson (RHD) from COL.

NSH's package has a total of 0 GP in either NHL or AHL. Are you 100% sure both Askarov and Svechkov would come across the ocean? And would like to play for a team in decline?

Alexeyev is ahead of him. WSH could very well accept that offer, but it is possible LAk would be open for negotiations and replace Madden with ****emo.

He’s going to get regular playing time this season and could potentially slot into top 4 depending on his play unless caps move Schultz or an RD for a veteran top 4 LD.

He’s NHL ready and has looked good when he’s played while Alexeyev may have a slightly higher ceiling his floor is also lower.

It's not easy to find good goalie prospects. Blomqvist and Clang were hard to come by. Were trading them unless it's for a top 6 forward. Blomqvist ad Clang might like 3 years away, but isn't that the same for almost every propsect in the league

Sample size is small as Fehervary last season played in AHL and has a total of 6 GP in NHL. Nardella will also try to compete for a roster spot, Alexeyev will return to AHL/NHL. i think WSH would be open to trade one of Fehervary/Alexeyev. I think teams would jump on Alexeyev if simmilar package would be enough for him. COL might offer the most, they could swap Drew Helleson (RHD) for big LHD. But Helleson is also not for cheap...

Anderson-Dolan has roughly 100 GP on a pro teams under his belt + he was part of CAN man WC team this season. When Blomqvist/Clang could/should arrive his total GP could be over 300 already. It does not take every prospect 3 years wink

So because JAD has more GP that mean the pens accept this? Blomqvist and Clang were JUST drafted. And notice how I said ALMOST every prospect takes a bit to be an nhler. JAD didnt come into the NHL right away. You're basicly saying you'll trade vasilevsky for Bergeron because bergeron has more games. Blomqvist and Clang both have better potential, and both have a chance to be really good goalies.

Maybe - idk why they’d move either one right now unless they’re blown away. Both have promising futures and should get time starting this season, next for Alexeyev probably. I don’t think there’s urgency in moving them and this original offer doesn’t get it done imo

Like it or not, players who can contribute sooner are more valuable. And don't worry, every fanbase is biased towards their players/prospects. LAK would also miss JAD's work ethic.
