You don't think BUF would consider trading Samuelsson to address their needs at forward? Even considering Dahlin and Power are locks for the top 2 LHD spots for the foreseeable future?
That is a typical response from Shibbal18.
He thinks he is the smartest person on this site and has missed his calling to be an NHL GM.
You are correct about Power and Dahlin, but Samuelsson looked very comfortable in his short cup of tea last year with Buffalo.
Buffalo burned an entire year of his ELC to watch him play for an extra three games last year.
But this is typical of Buffalo mismanaging their assets. How much playing time does any one expect him to see with Hagg, Butcher and Bryson on the team this year?
Let me cut to the chase, the Buffalo third will be close to TML 2nd in 2022, Robertson plays LW, as I indicated above it appears Buffalo management is in love with Samuelsson (as I am as well).
Buffalo has Skinner (yes he will be better this year, Granato will use him properly), Olofsson, Bjork, Girgensons, Asplund and Ruotsalainen at LW.
If Robertson was a RW and it was a 2024 third, I would make this trade as Thompson is the only RW Buffalo has other than Okposo and Hinostroza.
Any one will be moved for the right price, Robertson (as good of a prospect as he is) is not the right price at this time.
Let me add, the value exchange is reasonable, just the wrong assets for Buffalo.
I hope this is a better answer.
