Debrusk 23g 22a
Hertl 24g 28a

Debrusk is younger and under team control. They had almost identical 1st 4 years in league. Debrusk had a terrible year. One year. During a pandemic.

Hertl's arch is better the last couple years, but there is no reason to Debrusk can't go back to any year but last year.

Hertl is a center and has more value, but it's not as great as you are making it.

Again, not for one year, and honestly not unless he signs for around the same.

He is 27, played 500 nhl games and averaged 9 more points a season.

Something tells me Debrusk's 5% shooting last year was tje anomaly. Not the other three years @ 11-15%.

Awful deal for the sharks on the Boston trade. You would need to add Lysell for me to even consider.

You are basing your opinion on bad facts/opinions & one season. The only number that won't hold up is the 5.6% Debrusk shot last year.

We arw talking about guys with 250 and 500 nhl games behind them. Not 36. They are 1 goal er 82 different and 7pts.

I am sorry youbthink you player is really good. He had ONE really good season. He has one season out of 8 with more than 46pts.

Okay y'all, Hertl is a top 15 Center. I have made mock trades in the past for more in return for Hertl. They have all been criticized, someone will always have an issue with the trade. You add Lysell, people will say it's too much; I have it for basically 2 firsts, too little. I'm trying to balance it.

Now for the Holtz trade, I think it benefits both sides. Meier and Hischier would be really fun to watch together, Holtz and Eklund would also be really fun to watch together in the NHL. I understand you have criticisms, nothing will make everyone happy.

Okay I want to find a middle ground here. Would including a third without conditions in the deal be better? Something like Meier, a 2023 3rd, and a conditional 2022 3rd if Meier doesn't score 25+. Devils are getting closer to the playoffs and someone like Meier, playing with Hischier, would push them to a Playoff contender. I don't think Meier takes the QO, a contract extension would be far more likely; and after two seasons with Hischier, I wouldn't bet money he takes the selfish route.
