I just can't see the Kings giving up two good assets for a one year rental. Just doesn't put the Kings "over the top "

I should've said but they extend him. The Pacific division is so up for grabs. I think the only team guaranteed to make it is Vegas but I think if they could fall apart without Fleury. EDM is good but their defense and goalies are really bad. Kings can legitimately get in because their defense is now better with Reilly and their young forwards are incredible.

No you shouldn't say extend him. In 99% of the time, teams, especially contending teams, aren't going to allow their star upcoming UFA negotiate with another team. The worse part is if there is no agreement between the Kings and Reilly, then Reilly back with a team (Leafs) who just told him they don't want him. So, really these trades based on extension are mostly so unpractical .

Los Angeles isn't in the market for expensive rentals, Los Angeles isn't going to trade Gabe Vilardi anytime soon, and Los Angeles isn't going to be trading away a first-round pick unless the Kings are getting a player with term.

IF, and it's a big IF, Morgan Rielly came with a suitable extension, it's still unlikely that the Kings would give up two prime assets for him. And I still don't see how subtracting Morgan Rielly from that defense makes the Maple Leafs better contenders this year.

2-Miller isnt at all good
3-that's way too damn much for miller even when he was kinda good

Please Leaf fans, you are on a cap site, the Kings don’t have cap space to take on Reilly this season, they signed Edler to fill that role at 3.5M. This trade can’t happen unless the Leafs are sellers at the trade deadline which won’t happen when this is a do or die season for the Leafs.
