Flames decline, not because of value but because it makes no sense for the team

Why does every trade involving the Bruins on here have Debrusk in it?

You'll see that a lot. A lot of users focus on a small handful of guys for each team. Last year you'd think Liljegren, Kerfoot, and a 1st would get the Leafs any top player in the league.

Apparently Calgary and Edmonton are both interested in Debrusk, and Boston really wants him out.

Fair point on the what the Flames need - what are they looking for right now as there are all kings of rumours swirling on shaking up Mony and Johnny given their playoff performances etc. What direction are they electing to go it as it appears they are in limbo - curious to get your thoughts on this one.

Many teams have expressed interest in Jake as he has some 20 goal (and projected full season 20 goal) campaigns under his belt and he is still only 24. He had a bad season last year so teams are trying to buy low to land some half proven upside believing he needs a change of scenery.

Boston doesn't want him out or they would have left him unprotected during expansion draft, but they know he can play and they know he is a viable trade asset. My guess is they try to move him at trade deadline depending on how his season goes or before to try and shore up a proven 2nd line centre.

I’d say Calgary should keep Monahan, unless they’re trading for Eichel. We already have a 1C in Lindholm, Monahan would make an excellent 2C. Gaudreau is here to stay, and if Monahan has a bounce back season, he should stay as well.

Fair but the cost to get Eichel based on the insane asking price by the Sabres brass, would make it a hard sell I suspect for the flames to lose that many assets.
