This makes no sense! Why would Yamamoto take that for that long and that much money, when he can take a bridge, and possibly get more money on his next contract after the bridge? Puljujarvi may do that, but I don’t know if he will… it depends on how well he does. If he gets 50+ points he will want 5 or so million I bet you if it’s long term.

You can get bottom 6 forwards signed to long term at those amounts, but nobody who still sees themselves as a top 6 player would sign for that.

Jarnkrok and Sissons are the standard for that kind of contract.

Yamamoto will get 1.5 million x 2 they literally can't afford anymore and he has no leverage. If yamamoto is going to make it big he has no better chance than beside Draisaitl. He signs a small contract scores 60 points then heads to arbitration and cashes in. Puljujarvi will get something like nuge's contract eventually but not in 22-23. Maybe a 1 year 3.2 million dollar bridge and then a long extension in 23-24.
