Stars would probably do this if we didn’t have Esa Lindell, problem is we do have him and we cannot get rid of him because he has a full NMC. So in result Stars can’t do this deal because we simply don’t have the cap space for it.

Caps aint ever trading Wilson

If you want Wilson you’ll need to add way more.. an unproven prospect that didn’t do well in the KHL isn’t moving the needle. Good start but hardly gets you him 1 for 1.

Stars don’t have cap or room for Reilly so that deal doesn’t make sense.

Caps aren’t trading Wilson unless it’s a big overpayment which this isn’t it. They’re likely gonna give him captain down the road if he’s still there. They’re also in win now mode so trading for a single prospect doesn’t do anything for them now and opens up a big gap in their top 6.
