Agreed, probably has to be closer to 11 mil to avoid getting matched and thats a lot of cap space to through at Petterson.

There is a reason an offer sheet hasn't been successful since Penner in 07 . To get a team to not match a team basically has to put themselves in cap hell

They will need to clean out some people as they have less than 15M to make room for Petty & Hugues...
A trade proposal might be better for VAN... but look at their cap-situation

You hope someone else fall down: one of Gally, Drouin.. or Pricy for a month or two and get rest for the playoff

You can’t just assume that someone with a C.Price hit over $3 million is going to get a long-term injury for the rest of the season.

For sure, but it would be fun to see them fit everyone under the cap

They match it and figure everything else out later. Hughes can't be offer sheeted so unless he wants to give a year earnings up he's got no leverage.

Ask Montreal Drouin he'll just claim he can't hang again.
TB at least had provable injuries.

Same with Pricy and is hips, Petry with is finger and anyway Gally will get injured again the way he plays! So plenty of time to find the way...
and I believe you have chosen your wording in regards of Drouin flushed cheeks

Unless he was going through massive counseling he shouldn't have been eligible for ltir IMO

I just get a bit annoyed with the cap Friendly physicians who swear Kucherov was healthy enough to play ,but his, team, and league doctors who actually looked at the MRI's and X-rays say he wasn't. . They know better though.

The Bolts found out Kucherov was injured then planned around the knowledge of that. You can’t just injure your players so you can remain cap compliant.

no no.. we are Cap compliant but someone says what you will do when Byron will come back in December...
Let's cross that bridge later on... Free Lehky and have someone else team pick him up or same with Byron...

No team is going to help you out when your player is coming back and you have no options. You’ll be forced to trade one of the players at a massive discount because you have no leverage, since without a trade you’ll be in violation of the salary cap and you forfeit all of your games for the rest of the season.

If a team is over the salary cap and is unable to get below it, they forfeit all of their games. And what do you mean GMs are wiser than that? Are you saying that the other team’s GMs should be doing something smarter than using the leverage they’re given, or are you saying that GMs are smarter than you. (The latter of which is true, but not likely what you meant)

Those are the rules in the CBA. Obviously that punishment has never happened, because no GM is stupid enough to end up over the cap at the end of the year.
