Description
Kaprizov can't come to terms with Minnesota. From everything I've seen on this site, if Minny is trading Kaprizov they'd want futures to rebuild. More could be added if needed (Wilde, Holmstrom).

Haha ok. So Isles don’t have the pieces to trade for Kaprizov, but the pieces equals fair value in a potential Kaprizov trade? Don’t you see that you just splitting hair and fighting for semantics which means the same thing?

Because the Isles could offer similar value to other teams, and other teams would have pieces that are a better fit in their offer.
Beyond that, other teams could also outbid the Isles if it came to a bidding war, and the Isles wouldn't have the high end pieces some of those other teams could offer.

Semantics, being "what things mean", is a pretty important part of discussing "things", wouldn't you say? What's the point of saying things that don't have meaning? So yes, I am explaining the semantics of what I said to you, because you didn't understand.

Pieces and value is just semantics in this case, because essentially what you’re trying to do, is separate these two things as different, though they equals the same. Either you have the pieces/value or you don’t. You cannot have the value for a trade but not the pieces.

We didn’t discuss a bidding war, because then we can throw in Buffalo, Ottawa, Klngs etc. in this fantasy and of course they would outbid Isles. That was not our discussion. It was solely bases on you stating that Isles didn’t have the pieces, and I disagreed. You told me to relax.

Fellow Isles fans, this is a Wahlstrom scenario. It doesn’t matter what you’re offering Minnesota, they won’t move Kaprizov.

That said, y’all need to chill. None of us are experts, we’re all just having fun here.

What team has the assets, the cap space, and the want to go get Kaprizov? Obviously every team wants him but which team is gonna want to pay the price for him? The only teams that have those assets are revilers and they're not moving those assets. 2 1sts, Raty, and koivula is a solid offer for Kaprizov IMO. Then you have to take into account if they are trading him it's bc both sides refuse to give in so they lose leverage in trade talks because of that.

LA, OTT, DET, NYR.

All 4 of those teams have the assets and are making the transition from rebuilding to competing for a cup/playoffs spot. LA in particular has high-end center prospects to spare and desperately want a young top-six winger. I could easily see a package that could include Turcotte if Kaprizov was moved there. Likewise Yzerman would move a prospect like Raymond if Kaprizov was coming back in the trade. Pinto from Ottawa. Possibly Kaako from NYR.

It's not a bad package offer, but it definitely can be beat.

La was the only one I was thinking of. NYR most certainly does not have the cap next year when Zibanejad and fox have to be resigned. I don't see Ottawa moving Cs for a wing when they have a lot of wings and they're short on Cs. As for Detroit I don't see a Raymond for Kaprizov switch when Raymond is gonna be under team control for at lady another 7 years and on an elc for at least another 3. There's a rain teams keep their big prospects and instead of trading them for great players.
