Detroit's not trading Suter, And Trouba+Gauthier aren't worth Suter and a potential 2023 1st round pick potential top 5 pick. And Kevyn Adams isn't eating $12,500,000 for 5 years for those pieces either.

Why would they not? They need a leader on D. If you want to change the pick from 1st to a 2nd, ok.

No thanks on Trouba that ship sailed when he chose to sign with New York, And depending on how those 2 years go. I can definitely see Yzerman resigning Suter.

It makes no sense for Edmonton to do that deal. I believe Holland is waiting it out, and will reevaluate the goaltending situation around the trade deadline.

There’s no doubt Edmonton is a playoff team, so there’s no reason to trade away a 1st round pick just yet

I don’t think the rangers will resign Blias. Bridging kakko and Kravtsov will cost more then 2 1/4 AAV. Most likely be closer to 4. Mika and Fox are reasonable, I do believe they will sign team friendly contracts. If Fox has an other good year I think it’ll be an 8x8 deal. Mika ild like to see 6x8 but I think it’ll be 7/8x8.5/9. The trades I think Georgie will go to either edm or Phx but I think a 1st is a reach. I believe he’s worth a 1st but a 2nd and 3rd or 2nd and mid prospect is probably the way that will go. Jack Eichel for (2) 1st, a 2nd, a roster player and 2 prospects, would be career ending for Drury even with 2 1/2 retained. I don’t believe a reasonable deal can be done between Buffalo and the Rangers. The Detroit trade is decent but I don’t believe the relationship between the two clubs is good enough to spark a trade like this. It doesn’t help more then it hurts both lines. Other moves would have to be made for this trade to work.

Trouba is a cap dump

Because by that time you're hopefully handing the reigns of defensive leadership to Seider with maybe a couple of 'veterans' like Stetcher and Leddy to support the transition.
At the time of this trade Trouba has 3 further years at $8 million. Detroit clearly would not want that kind of contract on the books, especially as someone who's best characteristic is touted as leadership, you can tell this because they both do not have anyone signed close to $8 million, and don't have anyone signed for more than 3 years.

The only team I could see Trouba waiving for is NYI. His fiancé is doing her residency and being closer to her is why he wanted out of Winnipeg.

If Trouba does waive his $8M cap hit is going to take away from his return. Gauthier is some where between a good AHL player and a bottom 6 forward so he really doesn't have much value.

Until his medical issues are fully addressed, there is no good trade for Eichel.
