If we do select first overall Id call for Zegras to move to the wing as a RW-C somewhere down the line. Mctavish and Shane wright is the preferable 1-2 C combo. That said, this lineup is just to dreamy for me and I dont how Henrique makes it to 22-23 season with this club/management.

That is far from enough for Gibson.

Zegras is far better at Center than at LW. Moving McTavish to Wing makes more sense.

So we wait four seasons to get the first benefit out of trading our starting goalie, because Justin Barron is unlikely to hit an NHL roster until 2024-2025? And that 2024 first-round draft pick is unlikely to make it to the Big Show until the 2026-2027 season which, coincidentally, is when Gibson's current contract expires -- when he's only 34. And along the way, we probably give up any chance of actually making it to the Stanley Cup finals because as good as Lukas Dostal and Roman Durny may look right now, there's no assurance that either one will actually turn into an NHL starting goalie capable of winning playoff series.

Sorry to be highly critical of a fellow Ducks adherent, but this is the worst idea for our team I've seen since the last Buffalo-fan-proposed Jack Eichel trade.

Thats a pass by the Avs.

If Avs wanted to sign a goalie for over 6m, they would have extended Grubuer. Gibson contract isnt a steal anymore, its the high end of market value for Top 15 starters, and his stats haven't been what they used to be.

Gibson is still good goalie but hes not the elite one on a steal of a long term contract anymore. If they are comfortable with that goalie cap hit, now they will just sign Kuemper to a lesser hit than Gibson.

I dont see the benefit of this deal at all (and no Gibson has not been noticeably better or worse than Kuemper or Grubauer over the past 2 years, so lets not pretend he has more value than he actually does, results matteR)

You got me rolling on the ground laughing at the “last Buffalo fan proposed Eichel trade”
