Actually I have to disagree with this and anyone else saying that this isn't fair. Liljegren is not really an NHL defenceman and he won't be again this year because he is behind so many guys on a depth chart not to mention that his fit in the D-core is questionable. You can put him on the bottom pair, but then he will likely be playing with Sandin, or Dermott, both also offensive D-men. You could put him with Muzzin, but then Holl has to play bottom pairing where he has shown he isn't great because he kind of needs his chemistry with Muzzin in order to play well. At the end of the day, the Leafs don't really need his services, now, or in the future. The Leafs also get rid of Mikheyev and Engvall, who they no longer want. Miller is a more valuble D-man than Liljegren and he could play bottom pairing with Sandin to enable Sandin's offensive game, then you could have Dermott as your seventh D in case of an injury or if you want to remove someone from the lineup.
