Joe Thornton a signé un contrat de 1 ans d'une valeur de 750 000 $ avec les Panthers de la Floride, le 13 août 2021. Le contrat comporte un cap hit de 750 000 $.
this guy is useless, and looked like he had arthritis in both his knees while trying to skate vs Montreal. Guess he has "leadership" though, for all the good that has done for legit every single team he has played for .
why?
He's washed up. Done. He was washed up two years ago. He was washed up last year. TOR made this same dumb mistake last season and here comes the panthers to repeat it.
The best I can say about this is at least they gave him absolutely bare minimum salary.
Someone should really sit him down and tell him to hang it up. It's embarrassing at this point. He can't skate, and he can't more anymore.
An odd signing to be sure. Good for leadership, but the Cats already had too many forwards and were going to be sending a few good players to Charlotte. Now there's one more forward that will be losing a roster spot. But hey, what do I know - In Zito We Trust!
Again Joe…. not the right team to win the cup with. The cup is about an 1 hour away tho… Always next year ig 😭♥️
I guess you didn't watch the Cats last year. No team posed a bigger threat to the Lightning then the Cats last year and they only got better this summer. Im happy for Jumbo.
The chase continues, but this has to be Thornton's last year. I'm sure everyone, including myself, will be cheering for him no matter how washed up he is.

Maybe you should remember that the Isles pushed Tampa to the brink of elimination

Who else would you put ahead of them? To me the only teams better than the Cats on paper are Tampa Bay, Colorado, and Vegas. (With the Isles maybe being ahead of them as well, but just not on paper)
Good luck Joe. I will always cherish the fact that you were a Maple Leaf. Even if the outcome wasn't as desired. Still insanely happy that someone who was my favourite player for years finally got to play for my favourite team. Even if he doesn't play too much, the Panthers just got better.
